Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience during our visit. Despite having a confirmed booking through the pub’s system, the staff claimed they couldn’t find our reservation. Eventually, we were told to sit at a table at 7.50 p.m that appeared to be reserved to someone else (this instruction came from two female staff members) for 7.15 p.m.
All of a sudden a male staff member came and told us we were at the wrong table—despite the fact that this table was assigned to us by their own team. I calmly explained the situation, and the staff member walked away to resolve this situation. Whenever he walked away, the group sat down aggressively, with one young woman becoming confrontational and shouting at us. I reiterated patiently that we were only sitting where we were told to, and we were happy to move if the staff finds us another table.
However, the group continued to be hostile. The men from that group even told us to leave “their” table immediately, despite us having done nothing wrong. What made this worse was the complete inaction from the Pub’s staff. No one stepped in to clarify the misunderstanding, calm the situation, or defend us—even when the group’s behavior became inappropriate and borderline threatening.
As an expat group, it was hard to ignore the feeling that our presence was treated differently. The group’s offensive gestures and aggressive tone continued, and we felt genuinely uncomfortable and unsafe. Given their drunken state, we chose to de-escalate and leave peacefully, but the experience was deeply upsetting.
What was most disappointing was the lack of any apology or support from the staff. A simple explanation to the other group could have prevented the whole situation. Unfortunately, the way this was handled—or rather, not handled—left a lasting negative impression.
We hope the management takes this seriously and implements better training to ensure all guests are treated fairly, and that staff are empowered to step in when...
Read moreStaff here is not really friendly or solution focused. We had booked our place to watch football at this place and we mentioned the purpose of our visit when booking but we havent been shown any table when we arrived.
Instead, we were asked to sit on a single table for 2, while our booking was for 6. It was a very small TV to watch the game, even from a ridiculous angle.
After long lasting petition (why should we even ask that much for a table while booked one?), we were shown a table but only 5 mins later some aggressive group of people came and sit on our table without asking but claiming that the table was booked for them. It was almost 8pm but their booking was for 7:15 while they were irresponsibly having fun outside at random tables.
Staff should not allow people to leave their booked table totally unattended for more than half an hour on a peak time while people are looking for a single place to sit, and still be aggressive when coming back to their table.
Staff ONLY watched while the group of young people were being rude and aggressive against us. They did not seem to have an intention of bringing a solution. What the staff did actually was only trying to make sure those people got their table and send us somewhere else.
As a summary, this place does not guarantee a table for you when booked, and they do not promise they will actually do something when people in the place...
Read moreFelt a bit up and down about this place, after hearing some good reviews. We sat down for something to eat before our train and instantly got surrounded by flies trying trying get at the food and drinks. Ordered fish and chips, the bacon and cheese toastie and the mac and cheese bites as a little extra.
The fish dinner seems a lot smaller in this pub to other chains in Liverpool, barely any cheese in the toastie like i came close to sending it back and the mac and cheese bites were very tiny and you only get 4 pieces In them and they are charging 7 quid for them... I'd accept like 4 or even 5 pound for the price it but it just wasn't worth it.
Moving on to the cleanliness of it it needs a good deep cleaning to get rid of those flies and upstairs in the toilets are filthy. Noticed on the cleaning board the toilets wasn't cleaned since Friday noon... we came Saturday about 1 o'clock and noticed an empty wrapper on the floor of the cubicle so clearly someone had a bit of fun in them toilets the night before and the staff hasn't cleaned it since. So put off from coming back here from it because if yous can't clean a toilet 24 hours after you last did it what else aren't yous cleaning 🤢
The staff who served us though are really nice and chatty so I got to give the...
