Great food, amazing service and perfect atmosphere 👌 Wahaca is somewhere I will definitely be going again and would recommend everyone to try if ever in Brighton. This restaurant has impressed us that much that we are already planning our next visit. The overall experience has been incredible, from the faultless service to the delicious Mexican street food. Staff have been extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. A special mention to our waiter Arlen for his faultless service, he really is an asset to the restaurant. Food was truly amazing, fresh and encouraged us to try something new. To start we ordered nachos and in my partners words (who loves nachos) "these nachos better than any I've had before". We got the favourite set menu (suitable for 2), portion size was amazing and is was a lovely to be able to try some of the restaurants favourites. Then of course we finished with more cocktails and desserts which accompanied the food extremely well. Allergy information, procedures and awareness was all spot on. If I could give this place a higher rating I would, it is definitely somewhere we will be telling everyone about. The staff have something great here

I want to start out by giving the staff they was working the 3rd of August a massive shout-out! The top 3 best service I've ever had! The food was great! I usually order burrito when I can, because I love burritos, and it was fantastic, as well as all the other items we had. The place was really clean (that includes the restrooms). Edit: 2025. A year later. Coriander is now on the menu. I specifically asked for Burrito without coriander, they delivered, so much so that they delivered the guacamole with as little coriander as possible. The meal was delicious! The 3rd bite was awful due to too much coriander, after that I performed a surgical precision removing excess coriander and it was great! TLDR: I'm one of 5% that hates coriander, if you like it you'll love this place. Keeps the 5 star rating. --- original One point! I hate coriander, there was no mention of coriander on the menu (that I noticed), this nasty soap tasting spice ruins everything it touches and it was on everything. Had it not been for my surgical precision picking it out I would have had a very different experience.

The food was delicious. We each had a "wahaca for one" which includes guacamole, hummus, tortilla chips, a taquito, and two tacos of your choice. I chose the pork pibil and beef gringa. it all comes nicely presented on a board. the hummus had a dash of hot sauce but wasn't too spicy. I also had the passionfruit hibiscus cooler, which was really refreshing. we had a table booked for 5:40 on a Saturday and the restaurant was full, it was quite loud and difficult to hear each other across the table. it took a long time for the drinks to come and a long time for the food to come - all was ordered at the same time around 10minutes after arriving. we were in the restaurant for around 2 hrs. no one ever came to ask if we were OK, or wanted any more drinks, or a water top up, and it was difficult to get the attention of the waiters partly due to the volume.

I don't always take time to write reviews but this place really deserves to be shouted about. Short version - this was the BEST Mexican food, with the loveliest staff and brilliant atmosphere! We loved everything about our experience and we will be back!

Longer version if you want to know more! We visited on halloween night and there was a life size, traditionally made papier mache 'Mexican Day of the Dead' couple sat at the table as you walk in! The decor, staff and atmosphere if this place is instantly fun and welcoming. I had booked as it was next to Brighton's Theatre Royal and we had tickets for an evening show. We were greeted warmly by the proprieter (at least I think he was) who even remembered my name from booking! Both he and our waitress were attentive and helpful with recommendations and answering our questions about thd menu. We are vegetarian and were blown away by thd choice. I would recommend the small plates and choosing 3 each if you're hungry. The ancho mushroom taco were absolutely the best thing ever. My husband had to order a second plate of these when we should have had dessert. This comes as quesidilla and in a burrito so we will have to go back! I'm not a great cocktail fan but was bowled along by the atmosphere and tried the blackberry mojito- Zingy delicious - highly recommend this!! Service was so quick and efficient, we managed cocktails, many small plates, a sharing special and churros (divine) all in an hour and a half - perfect timing for us to get to our show! We were quite greedy as we'd skipped lunch - you could dine here and be more than satisfied with less!! Wahaca - thank you so much - We loved everything about our experience and we...

5 Stars – Calvin: The Taco Whisperer of Brighton

I don’t know if Calvin is a waiter or a low-key superhero whose superpower is making people feel like royalty while delivering guacamole with the precision of a ninja.

From the moment we sat down, Calvin swept in like a tequila-scented breeze of joy. Water? Already poured. Menu questions? Answered before we even asked. Tortilla chip emergency? Handled like a man trained by the Aztecs themselves.

He recommended the pork pibil tacos with the confidence of someone who has stared deep into the soul of a pig and whispered, “You were born for this.”

At one point, my friend asked for more napkins, and I swear Calvin produced them from thin air like a magician with a tortilla-based deck of cards. I half expected him to shout, “¡Olé!” and disappear in a puff of chipotle smoke.

He even made sure my friend’s dietary needs were handled without fuss – and with jokes. Like, “No dairy? No drama. I got you.” Honestly, if Calvin ran the country, everything would be efficient, spicy, and served with a side of salsa.

If you’re in Wahaca Brighton and Calvin’s working, buckle up. It’s not just dinner. It’s dinner with flair, comedy, and probably the best damn taco guidance you’ll...
