This place was recommended to us by one of our Indian friend who lives in Brighton and I am so glad that I managed to eat here. As soon as you arrive you are served with a jug of water unlike many restaurants that I have seen that do no bother to serve water unless asked for which personally I find very pathetic but I guess that's something you have to deal with most of the restaurants. We ordered a jug of nimbu pani and the quantity was so much that it could feed atleast 4-5 people . Next we ordered veg and non veg thali and I can say that after tasting Indian food at many places across UK it was indeed the best thali . Samosa was great , curry on both veg and non veg thali was great, all the chutneys , papodom was good as well. I think the food can do a tad bit better by being a bit more spicy or atleast adding just one spicy element to the thali . But overall I would totally visit this place again if I am again in Brighton. Btw I am light eater and was not able to finish the entire plate so make sure you make some room before you order a thali

The staff greets you in a very friendly manner at the doorway. I was seated after waiting at a long line of individuals. All of that was a great sign. The lady who was my waitress was very kind. I order the 3-course special. The appetizer was amazing, arguably the best course I had here. The main course, which was the butter chicken, wasn't that great. I enjoyed having it, but I definitely had much better ones. The dessert was also decent. The maple sweet balls I had were extremely heavy and sugary. However, the ice cream was ice. I would give a 3-star for the main course and the dessert, but the appetizer deserves a 5! The mango lassi was amazing as well! The service was also really good, but it could have been faster. Overall I would give this place a 3.5, which I have rounded up to a 4.

That one STAR I HAD to give for the google to allow me to write by unfortunate experience. If you noticed the Receipt, they wouldn’t have crossed the Chapati. Rude dismissive behaviour from the Chilli Pickle staff; he called me back to repeat his rude response by telling me that the missing food will NOT be delivered. I ordered four items through Deliveroo (because it was raining); here’s how the items were delivered. 1. Chapati: NOT delivered 2. Fried Chilli: not fried, but simple old rotten chilli with some cold oil applied on it 3. Masala Fries: soggy and cold 4. Tamil Pepper Chicken: it had a bit sweetness in it (NOT spicy at all) 5. Delivery fee - Chapati not delivered 6. Service fee - dismissive response and refused to deliver the missing order For the screwup that restaurant and Deliveroo did, they are planning to punish the innocent Driver. I have got the driver’s name, I will be writing this to Ombudsman if Deliveroo and Chilli Pickle conspire to punish the innocent delivery driver. Abysmal of food quantity and quality; and poorest of poor service. Never stepping in to this place again. or will buy again to proof that their food tastes like feet.

My opinion of chilli pickle has diminished almost as much as their portion sizes. Service was fine but the fOoD, what happened? We paid £60 for two mains, two sides and a starter. The sides were bigger than the mains, and we just bought rice and a supermarket bought naan bread. Nepali Hot wings Achari paneer sizzler Sigri Kesar Jingri Coriander and garlic naan Pilau rice The starter was decent (Nepali Hot wings) but the mains were ridiculous. Maybe this place is run by a team of rabbits, I'm not sure why else I got charged almost £20 for 6 prawns and raw spring onion (Sigri Kesar Jinga). it appeared as if someone had literally walked outside grabbed them, and stuck it on a plate. The Achari paneer sizzler featured 4 slices of paneer over a handful of red onion and was £14. Great place if you're on a diet and have too much money because this was about 200 calories. Would've been quicker for me to throw £60 in the bin than waste it here.

We didn’t have a booking. We were waiting one of the staff if there’s available table. There’s this one tall girl staff who just walked passed to us couple of times, didn’t bother and then suddenly she’s like stopped and asked us if we have booked a table, I said no. She said I’ll call my colleague. In fairness the other colleague was friendly and showed us our table. Food was good. But I can say over all service was not great! Again I saw the tall girl staff in the ladies toilet, she was loading the washing machine, small door next passing from the ladies toilet. She’s not friendly, very rude approach I can say. We asked for the bill, we waited for like 5-10mins and gave us a pudding menu instead of the bill. Oh well.

Disappointingly inauthentic. Nipped in for idli sambar. I dunno what it was, but it wasn't sambar. There was a little bit of muringa, a few curry veppu, but the gravy was like a thick tomato sauce (too salty, also) , the veg was like a pumpkin curry and there was absolutely no flavour of tamarind, asfoetida etc. Sooo thick, too - nothing like sambar. Also one idli lol? You know that's not how it's done. Maybe just as well tho because it was solid. Are these guys using Gits instant mix or what? Brighton people wanting to taste real idli sambar had better pop over to Worthing to the dosa cafe. This was horrible stuff. Sorry. I rarely give bad reviews, but it was a shockingly poor rendition of an easy and simple dish.
