Complaint Regarding Appalling Takeaway Experience I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent takeaway order from Wagamama that fell far short of the standards expected from a brand of your reputation. Here are the details of my order: • 1x Mini Chicken Katsu with Amai Sauce • 1x Chicken Gyoza • 2x Prawn Firecracker Curry • 1x Crispy Chilli Mushrooms (VG) Total: £56.78 The experience was nothing short of disgraceful. The Prawn Firecracker Curry, priced as though it were a premium dish, contained a paltry six small prawns per portion and an insultingly sparse amount of vegetables. This was not only miserly but utterly unacceptable for the price charged. The Crispy Chilli Mushrooms, described as crispy on your menu, were instead a soggy, oil-slicked disappointment. Adding to this culinary travesty, the entire meal was tepid upon arrival, robbing it of what little enjoyment might have been salvaged. Further compounding the issue, the order took over an hour to arrive—an unjustifiable delay for what should have been a fresh, satisfying meal. Your service stands in stark contrast to competitors such as iFood, who consistently deliver hot, generously portioned dishes featuring a bounty of prawns and vibrant, fresh ingredients. It is clear that Wagamama’s takeaway service has devolved into a parody of itself—an overpriced, underwhelming operation that is unrecognisable from the brand it once was. To charge nearly £60 for such mediocrity borders on exploitation.

I had my first dining experience at Wagamama's last night with friends and it was thoroughly impressive. The food quality stood out remarkably. The flavours in each dish were vibrant and well-balanced, making it an ideal spot for both aficionados and newcomers to Japanese cuisine. I tried the chicken, which was cooked to perfection, and a side dish that complemented the main course beautifully. The highlight, however, was the katsu curry. Not only was it delicious, but the portions were also generously sized – a trend I noticed across all our orders. Wagamama's also caters well to different spice tolerances. The regular curry was flavourful without being overly spicy, and they offer options to add extra heat for those who prefer it. The service was unique in that the dishes were served as soon as they were ready, resulting in staggered arrivals at our table. This might be unusual for some, but it certainly didn't detract from our overall experience. The restaurant's cleanliness was evident, though an oddly slippery floor was a notable exception. It seemed more like a consequence of some cleaning agent rather than a lack of hygiene. Despite this minor hiccup, the dining experience was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Wagamama's for anyone looking for great quality Japanese food with ample portions in a clean and welcoming environment.

We finally went to Wagamama. There is usually a queue outside so we don't bother and we go somewhere else. This time, we waited, and it was fairly worth it. The person who was serving us was really nice. We sat by the table where, with small space, join is another couple, which was a bit weird. We would prefer to sit by a separate table. We've been given menu when we were waiting outside so we made our minds . The food was presented and tasted really nice. I had main , cocktail and dessert. My partner had additionally bao buns as a starter, which he unfortunately didn't like . We were happy without our mains and drinks. One of the cheesecakes was unavailable at the time, so we needed to choose different. It was quite busy that day so it shouldn't come as a surprise. The food is not the cheapest once, but portions should be sufficient. Main was about 14 - 18 £ . Prices of drinks vary. My one was 9£ and my partners 7£. Desserts had similar prices, so about 6 to 8£. We definitely will go there again as there is plenty of choice on the menu, but it will be for a special occasion.

Absolutely brilliant! Firstly I would like to mention what an absolute pleasure to meet the manager who goes by Karol 5* to this man!

The restaurant:- I haven’t had a wagamamas until this year, Ive been twice and had a brilliant experience both times. Very allergy aware unlike so many restaurants. For myself I am gluten intolerant and very sensitive, I had no issues. The restaurant is very clean, and even when it’s busy it’s not claustrophobic and hot. Toilets are also very clean!

The members of staff:-

I found on both occasions the restaurant is very busy, with good reason. The waiting staff are very good at what they do and even though I can tell they’re tired (I’m very perceptive), they don’t show it and they’rei very quick and efficient. There has been someone that has really stood out from the crowd, and that’s Karol. We have been seated by someone else and had someone come to take our order (we were undecided at first), no one has given me the same impression that karol has. He gave a very warm welcome, not so formal that it’s robotic, but a perfect mix that actually feels genuine. How he takes orders is also very relaxed, unique and is very easy to talk to.

The food:-

I’m a scoundrel for Asian cuisine, and this was delicious. Being gluten intolerant I don’t get many choices in my daily life and most of the things are awful or there’s just no variety. The gluten free menu is small but I won’t mark the restaurant as gluten free is slowly becoming more popular, but it’s still early ish days. I’m very happy with my chicken raisukaree, it reminded me of Thai red curry with a more coconut base. I did ask it to be spicer with some fresh chilli on the side. I highly recommend!! (This dish is mild without the added spice so don’t worry if you don’t like spice). PORTION is very important to me and I’m happy to say it’s the first place I’ve eaten and not had to go home and eat more. I’m not a big person by any measure and I don’t eat LOADS. Portion was brilliant. I’d rather pay more than have the portion reduced but please don’t do either as it’s perfect how it is!

Summary:

Definitely will be going again and ordering the same raisukaree, green tea and a smoothie (very nice), I’d highly recommend! Price is very reasonable for the food you get, the drinks are a little expensive (being picky). but I’d say with the portion and quality of the food, I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. Well done Wagamama’s for giving me the first very friendly...

I love coming to Wagamama, always has gorgeous food choices and the ramens are to die for!! I lost count of how many times I have come into Wagamama! The staff are all really helpful, smiley and happy to help you. You do sometimes have a little wait for a table but they are always very busy inside. You are always greeted with an Incredible aroma when you enter the doors of Wagamama, the smells get you in the mood for food very quickly. The menu is packed full of Incredible food that you always never know what to pick, and most the time I end up getting Sirloin Steak Chilli Ramen anyway as it is such an incredible dish. The staff are always lovely and make you feel very welcome. I am always very awkward with asking for alterations to the food I order but there are always very happy to do so, always apologise for being awkward but they always tell me they are more than happy to help. The drink selection is great and they have some incredible drinks, I love the ginger beer for sure, nice zing and spice to it. The portions are always great, especially the ramen, the Katsu curry is absolutely gorgeous too, recommend to anyone that is stuck and doesnt know what to order! The sobas are incredible too! I can probably list so many I love! I have one dish I wasnt too fond of myself but I guess that's just my taste. Always leave you full and satisfied! The desserts are incredible, and always try to squeeze in a dessert if we can! Only thing is the wait for the bill can be a little bit of a pain, as it is always extremely busy, the wait for a bill or to order can take a little while. However the staff are always very apologetic and always make it up with there beautiful food. Prices can be a little steep, it's definitely more of an occasional restaurant, like birthdays, date nights, anniversaries that I would go as my partner and I can rack up a bill over 50 pounds with starters, mains, a couple drinks. I definitely...

We ordered ramen and noodle dishes. Ramen dishes both were sloppy - sauce thrown on top of the pork, stodgy noodles, broth that tastes of nothing. Spoke to waitress who spoke to manager who clarified that this is their new way of making ramen. Tastes bland and of nothing. Asked if we wanted different dishes which we said ok to. Dishes were mediocre, katsu curry tastes weird, noodles tasted burnt. Not sure if they’re updating all their food, but it seems to taste weird, burnt and tasteless. Just wanted to leave at this point so we went onto the app to pay for our meal, it included our original ramen dishes, asked the waitress about this, she checked with the managers. They gave us dirty looks from across the restaurant constantly, creepily and coldly staring at us. After around 10 minutes they managed to sort this out. We wanted to redeem an offer of free edamame, was told that the manager had said that it won’t come off the bill because of the bill being so messed up already. Queried what can be done, the managers continued to just stare at us from across the restaurant. Eventually got it removed after another ten minutes waiting. This was a meal to redeem a Christmas gift card, it was appalling service and food! The managers need to sort out their attitudes towards customers, particularly the lady in the stripy white and black top and the man that stood near the front of the restaurant. Makes customers feel uncomfortable and not want to return, especially when the food is changing for the worse!! The only positive of the entire meal was our waitress Pheobe, she has excellent customer service skills and genuinely seemed to want to help us despite the managers ineffective skills. Such a shame as we used to go here often, but after several visits like this recently, I don’t think we will...
