The food at this restaurant was excellent - very tasty and does the Mediterranean proud. I would definitely recommend visiting based on the quality we received. However, the rest of the experience was not quite as good. I've listed a few examples below:
COVID-19 measures: non-existent. I appreciate it is incredibly difficult to maintain social distancing inside a restaurant and that there is obvious risk visiting any public place in the middle of a pandemic, but it is possible for staff to wear face-masks, and for limits to be made on the number of guests inside the building. unfortunately, there were absolutely no measures in place.
Quality of service: poor. We asked for the bill several times and were ignored for a lengthy period of time, as were the people sat adjacent to us. Completely understandable when it's a busy evening. At this point, however, the restaurant had become relatively quiet and staff were much less rushed than they had been previously in the evening.
Overbooked: we booked a table and arrived to find there were no tables available. No apologies were given, no drinks offered to occupy us as we waited. Instead, we stood for ten-minutes by the front door until a table became free. Once seated, we had to wait a further fifteen-minutes before we were finally asked what we would like to drink. In fairness to the restaurant, it was very busy and I appreciate staff were rushed at this point, but it really doesn't take long to at least get the...
Read moreWent there on Tuesday 27th August 2019 for out first night in Bournemouth. We had a party of eight. We didn't book it in advance but when we got there the restaurant was partially empty anyway. They said the biggest table was already booked and so couldn't accommodate us. As we were a hungry bunch with kids and a diabetic with us we pointed out that they could put two table together and accommodate us. So they did. The waiter was not very friendly at all. He seemed very stuck up definately had no customer service training! After about 5 minutes the waiter plonked one small bread basket in front of us. Then 10 minute later came some condiments to dunk it in. Then We waited 20 minutes for our starters. It was only 3 plates and came slowly one after another. Our mains came over 1 hour later! There was no apologies or acknowledgment from anyone there working. The waiter was not at all attentive. Once he gave the jug of water with ice next when we wanted a top up he just gave without ice. He seemed rushed and completely out of his depth. They were certainly under staffed both at front and in kitchen. People were walking away. The food was average. We've had much much better Turkish in London, with the most excellent service! On top of everything they unashamedly took service charge!! I would definately not recommend this place ever to anyone! The one star is for the food only. For the service if I could give a minus there wouldn't...
Read moreOne of the worst restaurants in Bournemouth!!
Attempted this place and the menu looked fairly decent. Upon asking for a table for 2, the waiter turned their diary with bookings to an incorrect date and said we could potentially have a table if we were quick (Massive red flag and should have just left).
Waiter didn’t really bother coming to our table for our order, and we had to keep getting their attention (the restaurant was not busy at all) we were served stale flat breads, salad and kofta which was tiny portions, and didn’t taste fresh at all. The mains tasted like artificial shop bought sauces with meat. Honestly the worst food that wasn’t cheap either!
Staff members tried putting the service charge on our bill, however due to the complete lacking of service we insisted we didn’t want to pay in which staff became increasingly rude about.
Save your money and eat elsewhere in...
