We went there last year and had a great experience so decided to go again this year on our way back to London from Brighton. The food was ok, I had the moscardini with spicy tomato sauce and my partner the calamari fritti and we shared a bread basket for starters. For main we both had pizza, one quattro formaggi and one diavola. The issue was the service, the waitress and the hostess who moved us from downstairs to the upstairs area had no personality, very mechanical and no real passion for customer care. We ordered a bottle of wine and was asked if we wanted to try it. I pointed at my partner to taste the wine and while he was tasting it the waitress proceeded to fill up my glass. The wine wasn't the best, but that is beside the point as we drank it, it was more the lack of understanding that if you are asked to try it you simply do not go ahead and fill glasses up before you had the green light from the taster. We had no reason to complain as such, we had several checkbacks on our food throughout the meal. All I am saying is that there was no passion whatsoever or a smile in the service and that is what complements the experience. the bill came up to £95.64 including service. We saw couple of other waiters downstairs who were really smiley both when we walked in and out of the restaurant - maybe we were just unlucky with our one but we won't be rushing back for sure.

SO GREAT! We were on our 'Holiday Day' in Brighton from London and stopped off here for dinner before we got the train home. We ended up getting a later train because we were enjoying our time so much. My son got the kids menu which was a bargin and delicous (he actually ate), I had the arribita which was incredible (and I eat this A LOT as it's my fav) and I can't rememeber what my partner got, but he also commented saying how nice it was. We run a pub in SW london, so pick up on things customers often don't... The thing that really stood out though, was the service. From the moment the young man greeted us and listened paitently to our son chatter, we were impressed. Polite and interested and friendly. He then swapped sections and we got someone equally as lovely, and very funny and charasmatic. We had a few interactions with another team memeber with blonde hair who was also fab. Basically, all friendly and kind and attentive. Even with my son was running around chatting to them. Definetly be back soon! Only teeny tiny thing is potentially a smoking free area? We were outside and a woman kept on coming from inside to smoke and play loud music on her phone directly next to us as we ate. Though I know that's super hard to manage as she'd only be out for a few minues at a time. ANYWAY! so great, thanks again.

10/10 No words can describe the service I received (specially from Marco) Cannot thank enough the staff at Al Duomo for such a lovely and memorable evening. I was celebrating my birthday there and honestly since we arrived until we left, Marco, the manager at the restaurant, and all the staff including Francesco and Riana were outstanding, and very friendly and pleasant, making sure my 15 guests and I were having the best celebration ever. The staff went above and beyond, even helped us with pictures and cutting the cake. They celebrated with me and joined me for pictures and even singing Happy Birthday. Immensely grateful to Al Duomo and specially Marco for the caring, wonderful, friendly, faultless and top notch service. Recommended for all celebrations. Guaranteed you’ll have a remarkable and memorable time. Thank you so much, Marco, Francesco and Riana. We all left very impressed with the exceptional service and food at this restaurant. We had a truly enjoyable evening. I will cherish forever my 23rd birthday celebration.

I had pre booked this evening meal 4 months in advance for my sister Hen do Meal. I had made the reservation online for 20 ish people to see if they were able to cater for this many people. After my reservation being accepted, I called them up to double double check it was all ok- also to explain it was an important booking. They confirmed eveything was ok to proceed. After I had made the booking, they sent me a pre order form for our food, with no problem at all I filled it in and sent it away a week and a half prior to the day (they only requested it 2 days before). When we arrived, we had the impression we were going to be in the main restaurant as they asked if we wanted to be in a separate function room and I said no due to wanting some of the atmosphere around us. They took us away and into a separate room up some flights off stairs. The room initially was freezing cold, dark and silent. We asked for some heating and they put a small heater on by the door but still left the door open, we then asked if we could have any background noise and they said no as the radio didn’t work. So disappointed from the start. When it came to ordering drinks/ food, they couldn’t make some of the cocktail we asked for off the menu, we ended up waiting a while for drinks. 2 hours into our booking we still had no food and no sign off it coming. We had a strict time schedule with places to be after, however still left 3 hours for our meal ( we only pre ordered main meal each). Unfortunately 2.5 hours in and we still had NO food and the excuse was the kitchen was busy- despite booking 4 months in advance, pre ordering food (over a week prior) however they were still accepting walk ins? I am really really disappointed by this and let down. I had spent months organising this hen do for my sister and you guys let us down. We left with no food at all. We were all starving so had the rest off our evening hungry. It was not fair and they were very rude. Despite getting no food and one drink per person in the whole 2 hours we were there. They still expected us to pay. We said no and left there and then as we had other places to be. Over all, it ruined our evening as this was the big HenDo meal. I would NOT recommend at all for group bookings, regardless of how far in advance you book it l. Really...

RUDE MANAGER AND HORRIBLE SERVICE! AVOID! My friends and I travelled down from Glasgow the weekend of the brighton marathon and I had booked this restaurant 4 months in advance (as i knew it would be a busy weekend - as the marathon was the following morning). Upon entering the restaurant we were being served by the manager who we later discovered, her name is Julie and she was nothing but rude to us from start to finish. I understand the restaurant was very busy that particular evening and we did have to wait a significant period of time for our food however decent customer service would have made all the difference to our overall experience. The manager ignored us when we were trying to politely get her attention, she was rude, abrupt and everytime she walked by our group, she would give us dirty looks which is absolutely embarrassing behaviour from someone who is meant to be in charge (not to mention an adult). At the end of the meal I politely approached her about her attitude and treatment, to which, she would not even look me in the eye. I then asked her, ‘you don’t care do you?’ To which she responded “No because i don’t even understand you” (this came across as racist behaviour on her part, given our scottish accent). When I asked her her name (which by this point we already knew was Julie) she responded “Greta”, what an absolute joke! she was well aware that her behaviour was absolutely out of order and beyond what would be acceptable in any hospitality environment. This manger blatantly lied about her name! Worst experience ever and would definitely recommend people AVOID this place. However we would give a special thanks to the young girl Ailise who stepped in to deal with our table, she was very understanding and polite. I would say she is a credit to the restaurant. Overall it was a real shame as the food was actually very good but the horrible, rude and disrespectful behaviour of one individual who is supposed to be the leader of the team ruined this entire experience. She is obviously unfit for her role and is not a leader who benefits the team of very good...

I wanted to contact about our experience at your restaurant this evening. We chose to come after a very positive experience a few months back when we had lovely food and fantastic service by the young blond lady from Belfast. Luckily she was our waitress again and thing were going well to start with. We ordered 241 cocktails as it was 5.30, 2 pizzas, 1 chicken and 1 steak. During our meal, PJ came up and introduced himself as our server (not sure what happened to our lovely Belfast lady). Things went wrong from this point. The chips that came with the steak weren’t cooked so we’re sent back and sauté potatoes requested in place of them. The steak was almost finished by the time the potatoes arrived and no apology given for undercooked chips. Then at 6.45 we asked for the bill. This contained many mistakes. The 4 cocktails had been charged in full (£22 overcharge), 3 pizzas instead of 2 (£15 overcharge). The replacement potatoes were charged (overcharged £5). That’s was a £42 plus 12.5% overcharge. Quite significant. This took multiple attempts and until 7.20 to correct the bill. Our show started at 7.30. There was no apology for the overcharge, just PJ saying that he charged is in full for the cocktails as it was now 7.15! 🤷🏼‍♀️. When we said we had ordered them at 5.30, he said he would have to check. We were so unhappy with this we asked him to removed some of the service charge. We left £10. In hindsight we should have asked him to remove it all. We don’t go out that often and we extremely upset by our...
