China Star — Restaurant in Great Britain

Ordered somewhat regularly from this place for a few months. Most of their food was not great... for instance, vegetable fried rice had weird assortment of vegetables (lots of water chestnuts and beansprouts) that made the texture gross and unappealing (and I'm a vegetable lover!). The Thai spicy fried rice is listed as "vegetarian" but reeked of seafood. In general, their rice is just not good. But, through trial and error, I found a few other things I liked and, since it was near my house, I found it to be convenient for when I needed a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately, last time I ordered (couple weeks ago) I found some kind of dead insect/larvae at the bottom of a dish I'd just finished eating! I didn't get sick or anything, but needless to say, I was not happy to see that... and now I am no longer confident in their kitchen hygiene. I will not...

I do not usually write reviews, but this is The worst Chinese takeaway I have had!! The chicken curry was extremely poor, it tasted like a ton of pepper had been dumped into it with no other flavours, and the vegetables with cashews was utterly tasteless; we left most of it. When I took the meal back the next day and complained, the manager started shouting at me that I had eaten most of it. I replied that the rest is in the bin and I can fish it out for him if needed. I will never order from here again because of the awful food and equally awful customer service, and I’m incredulous at all the 5 star reviews;...

Has this place been taken over? Order monthly, But last order not the quality I'm used to, Portions Not that good, Smaller, Even rice, was not impressed, Not sure what the problem is, Maybe a bad day for the Chefs, Can confirm totally under Par, quality and quantity, Shame if this is going to be the Norm' ?, I support all local traders, But £56 and Disappointed dishes, Portion sizes I do hope we get "Back" to our China Star we are all used to, Lets hope we do not loose this place, Charge another 50p-£1 and make the dishes as before.. It's still cheaper than a Fish and Chip Takeout... And...
