Finally, Dishoom has opened its doors in Glasgow, and it is already proving to be one of the city’s finest spots for authentic Indian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to an atmosphere that beautifully captures the charm and nostalgia of old Mumbai. The décor is thoughtfully designed, with warm lighting and vintage details that make you feel like you have stepped into a classic Irani café. The lively vibe and subtle background music create the perfect setting for an unforgettable dining experience, especially for anyone who has ever lived in or visited Mumbai. The menu is a true celebration of Mumbai’s vibrant street food culture. The variety of Indian snacks is impressive, with specialties that instantly bring back memories of the bustling streets of the city. From crunchy, flavourful chaat to spicy and tangy small bites, every dish bursts with authentic spices and perfectly balanced flavours. The main course offers plenty of delicious options, from rich curries to perfectly cooked biryanis. While the vegetarian choices are somewhat limited, the taste more than makes up for it – each dish is cooked to perfection and delivers a truly satisfying experience. Overall, Dishoom Glasgow is more than just a restaurant; it is an experience that connects you to the soul of Mumbai. The combination of exceptional food, warm service, and nostalgic ambience makes it a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian cuisine or simply wants to savour a taste of Mumbai in the heart of Glasgow.

We visited Dishoom in Glasgow for food and arrived around 11:15 AM. Our waiting time was around 30mins. Dishoom servers usually introduce themselves and ask few relevant questions but not much of that so we can’t name the server, we rushed to order our breakfast, or we would have to wait another 20-25 minutes for lunch. This crucial information was not communicated to us at the reception, which made us feel rushed. The maska bun arrived first, but our chai was missing. When the rest of our food arrived, we had to specifically ask for the chai. The chole poori was lukewarm, and the poori was not soft. No server came to check on our food, so there was no opportunity to address this while dining. Once we finished, nobody came to clear the table, and we had to go to the counter to pay. When we expressed our concerns to the person handling our bill, he tried to contact a manager, but there was none on site. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service. The rushed ordering, lukewarm food, and lack of table service made for an unpleasant experience.

I am so happy that Dishoom is finally in Glasgow. I have been for dinner and breakfast and both meals were fantastic. Wonderful service, terrific ambiance, delicious food and great cocktails. I can highly recommend the Glasgow specials on both the main menu and the breakfast menu. My friends and I also loved the monkfish, the murgh malali, the black daal of course, and the paratha that came with the Glasgow special was insanely good. At breakfast, we loved the bacon and egg naan, which is consistently good, the haggis special and the pancakes. The India Gimlet is a must order cocktail and I heard the Margaritas were also great. The service is exceptional. You will always get a warm welcome at the door, and then will be looked after throughout your entire meal. Both servers that I've had at the Glasgow branch have been incredibly friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and have made the experience really special. You can't go wrong with Dishoom.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast and chai, I am beyond happy that Dishoom is finally in Glasgow. Didn’t even bother me that I was a solo diner (I have friends ok it’s just difficult to get people on a weekday morning)

The only thing was that i was there for THREE HOURS!!! Every time I tried to wave someone down for the bill, there’d be no response. No attention. Then a server very politely said they needed the table back soon as it’s busy and perhaps would I like one last chai top up with the bill? Yes! I said. I’ve been wanting the bill I promise!!! My chai arrives but no bill. ANOTHER server comes up and says hello you’ve been here for quite a while and it’s busy so I’m really sorry can we get the table back in ten minutes? YES i respond (i’m not shouting obviously), I was told I was getting the bill but it hasn’t arrived yet. I PROMISE I WANT TO LEAVE!!!!

The bill arrives. It’s wrong. Guy says okay I’ll go fix it. Three times in a row he comes up and says “sorry, did you pay your bill?” and “oh, did I fix that for you yet?”

Naw man!!! I haven’t paid my new bill! And now it’s been half an hour since the original request.

Obviously the place is new and there are teething issues to deal with. I’m not raging. It was just hilarious and I want to assure the staff I tried really hard to get the bill and leave so many times but… I was not able to… I left satisfied but also confused and...

I visited during a 50% off promotion and faced an hour-long wait. I noticed the menu prices are quite steep—5% higher than their London menu, 15% higher than Oxford’s, and about 10% higher than Edinburgh’s, despite Glasgow being less expensive than those cities. Additionally, the 12.5% service charge was applied to the full bill, not the discounted amount. While I understand the charge is discretionary, receiving a digital bill should allow me to opt out easily instead of having to ask the waiter to remove it. I kept it because I appreciated the service, though not the food or pricing. Now, onto the service and food: Service: 5/5 - The service was excellent, everything ran smoothly. However, I was slightly irritated when the waiter claimed the dish he served was his favorite, only to hear him say the same about different dishes at two other tables. It’s hard to believe every menu item is his favorite. Food: 2/5 - I ordered Okra Fry, Black Dal, and Garlic Naan. The Okra Fry was overly salty, beyond what I could tolerate. The Black Dal was delicious, though. The Garlic Naan tasted good but half part of it was crispy, almost like papad, which wasn’t what I expected. Overall, the experience was decent due to the great service and 50% discount, but I wouldn’t return if I had to...
