Oh Flares, where do I begin? Iām a regular customer and quite frankly, Flares has become my happy place. Spread across 2 floors of cheesy goodness, Flares has got something for everyone having different themes on various nights with excellent DJs - they rock my world, but Rock certainly isnāt the only thing they play! During my last visit I was served by Teddy, the service was very quick and Teddy was clearly very professional and enthusiastic (dare I say huggable?). I felt like treating myself so ordered a huge Sex on the beach Partini, although I certainly wasnāt planning on sharing! The door staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and certainly ensured I felt safe. Flares also has a handsome photographer who does an excellent job of capturing the night, the door staff even join in some of the pictures! Later on in the night it was time for round 2, which only means one thing. Another partini! I was served by Will this time who, like Teddy, was very friendly and offered excellent service. Now this wouldnāt be a fair review if I didnāt mention the downsides. The secret is out, everyone knows it: Flares is the place to be. This does mean that thereās quite a big queue to get in (all good things come at a cost, right?) but the Flares crowd is amazing, even in the queue you can have a great time getting to know other Flans (Flares fans). As well as the people, the staff are great and approachable so any questions I have they are always happy to answer. Overall if you havenāt been yet, what are you waiting for!? Youāll be sure to have...

I went last Thursday and would not recommend ever coming on a Thursday evening. The entry price was £5 for students, both dance floors were slippery, dripping walls and temperature was very hot (although I was wearing a jumper inside, so take that as you will).
Worst part by far was the DJ. A Spotify playlist would have unironically been better. He was clearly an ameture and kept muting the track for half a second to create what I can only guess as an attempt at a cool rhythmic effect, but was out of time and and always sounded out of place. Songs were often just played consecutively without any attempt at mixing intros and outros, with abrupt changes in tempo and unexpected sounding key changes between songs. I'd have to assume this was just a trial DJ, as later into the night (around 12:30) someone else took over who was much better, mixing tracks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDo not go here!! Incredibly rude door staff, we were thrown out of the queue for asking that our friend to be let in to stand with us rather than queue on her own, we were verbally insulted when we asked why we were being asked to leave and challenged the decision from a safety perspective, disgusted doesnāt even begin to describe how we feel, if you value your safety and want to have a good night do not go here!
I hope that the female bouncer is proud of herself; throwing a group of women out of the queue because they did not want one of their friends to be sent to the back of the queue on their own and using very personal insults with no provocation- I turn it back on you are your parents proud? If so they shouldnāt be
To the management - more than happy to discuss our experience with the hope that no one else has to go...
