Hot Wok — Restaurant in Great Britain

Sadly, we didn't have a great experience today. We came in right when the restaurant opened. We were greeted at the door by a young man who was polite and he is about the only reason why this review is getting 2 stars. The other lady who served us came across as rude, her manners, lack of listening and the overall approach was not what you'd expect from a restaurant. She also forgot our drinks, probably because she is more focused on talking a lot and making it look like she engages with customers but she doesn't listen to anything you're saying and her pretend face is so obvious it makes customers uncomfortable. We were also given an empty bottle of chilli oil, but then it was corrected by the other staff, the polite man mentioend before. The food arrived quite fast, the portion of salt and pepper chips was quite small compared to other times we dined here, some of the chips were not cooked inside, still cold and frozen. The veggie mini hot pot was OK, not too many flavours, quite bland, but the dumplings were decent. The atmosphere in the restaurant wasn't great due to a large crowd of students that showed up and was noisy, acting like they were at a house party rather than a restaurant. At any other restaurant, they'd be asked to behave appropriately. Such a shame that we've had this experience because it used to be a good restaurant. Perhaps the owner changed as the menu also changed a lot and is very basic with almost no options for vegetarians. Probably won't be back for...

Placed my order for delivery at 16pm today for delivery after 17pm . This is when it started to go wrong. 17:10pm driver calls to say outside which he was not, tried taking to him on the mobile but just got foul laugh as the driver phone not working call the shop just a a waste of time said they would call back but no call called the driver 6 times his phone on mute. Finally received food cold and more abusive language. Never again called the shop not answering the calls don’t use this restaurant/takeaway. After issuing this review, call from the restaurant to say sorry and due to receiving the incorrect meals and the abusive words used by the delivery driver they would replace the full meal. 45mins later nothing called them and yet again they just did not have a clue . This place needs closing down they are taken mint under false pretences. Told the owner was talking to me to then be told she was not the manager and did not understand. Told the manager/ owner would call me in 10 mins , yes you have it no call back just lied to me . Close this please down . Don’t waste your...

I go here quite often! Me and a few friends love this place and it quickly became my top favourite places to eat out at! It's even a place I go to eat when I'm feeling down because the staff and food are that good! The food is amazing, we've ordered quite a few dishes but my friends and I have barely scratched the surface! I've never been disappointed with a dish we've been served and the owner (I think she's the owner) is a lovely person who me and my friends are always excited to see when we get there because she's so kind to us and we've become regulars because of the amazing times we have here! I would recommend going to this place in person, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is so calming and the staff are kind.
