Updated June 24.
Went in at short notice with no booking, no problem and we were seated straight away.
The atmosphere in this restaurant is happy, warm, friendly, the music is upbeat and the colours compliment the feel.
The menu has been updated, there are new veg options giving tge menu a better balance.
3 of us had the chimichanga, this was new, it delivered exactly what the menu promised. All the food served was excellent, everyone was very pleased with their choices and the quality of the food.
The kitchen is in full view of the restaurant floor, this gives a sense of confidence in the cleanliness and confidence of the team.
The dish which stood out was a dessert, again I think this was a recent addition to the menu, margarita cheesecake. The cheesecake does taste of margarita, on its own this might not sound like anything special but paired with the lime sorbet which comes with it and wow, just wow! A very grown up dessert indeed 😋
Bart, our waiter was really friendly, he kept the chat fun and short, he made sure we were well taken care of and had smiles on our faces.
In a busy city with lots of choice, this place is a safe bet for a great, relaxed and informal meal...
Read moreI rarely give bad stars for any restaurants. I like to give positivity and tell all the delightful things in life. However, this restaurant disappointed on all fronts. The meals were weird and strange. We waited over 10 minutes for the dessert menu. My husband finally went to the front to grab the dessert menu from the very kind hostesses. I believe this is where the waitress got upset with us. Dessert was something so unique that we couldn't decide if we liked it.. Quatro Leches cake. It had freeze-dried whip cream on it. It was really gross and yet compelling. We were laughing at the absurdity. Our waitress made us sit for 20 mins without a bill and no water. She prebussed our table without giving us our bill to pay. It was rude and passive-aggressive. I presume to punish us for laughing and trying the dessert that was so like it came from the Mad Hatter of the future with freeze dried whip cream or for us getting the dessert menu. We came to have fun and try new things. We left feeling confused and baffled as to the snub by the waitress. What an...
Read moreWe had to leave half an hour ago, quite disappointed by the treatment we received. After working for three years at Las Iguanas (Cardiff), I wanted to return to the place where I learned and grew as a waitress and as a person. And thanks to the short, blue-eyed waiter behind the bar, he ruined our day visiting Glasgow. It's been many years since I returned to what was once my home, and I wanted to take the opportunity to take my husband so he could experience the cheerful atmosphere and the flavor of Las Iguanas. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible because at 8:30 p.m., he told me they weren't taking anyone else, even though the kitchen closed at 9:00 p.m. They were cleaning and didn't want to serve anyone other than those already eating, and that's the reality. I know they're obligated to seat people and take their food until 8:59 p.m., because it happened to me. We could have ordered and stayed for dinner peacefully until 10:00 p.m., when they closed. I'm very disappointed and upset. This didn't happen at the iguanas...
