Before go, you have to booking a table. The restaurant too busy for the walk in costumers. We tried lot of restaurants in Glasgow (today we tried 3 others) to my food trip blog. Easy order, extremely fast delivery to the table. Our waitress was totally lovely and kindly. She is the best waitress for far. The staff very friendly, and the decorations are nice. The whole restaurant looks like a tiny bar. The âtapasâ style absolutely amazing I prefer better the shared food than choose one dish from a menu, what I never ever tasted, and maybe I hate it. So we tried the cocktails , what wasnât strong, but well mixed, looks nice, and the taste is good. Before we ordered anything we got a bottle of water, and before you send it back, just take a look to the menu: The All Food is HOT!!! The food was ok, but not amazing. Suddenly if somebody talking about the Mexican food, everyone thinks to the spice jalapeño, habanero, chipotle tasteâŠ. Itâs not true. I missed the taste of the food. I ate beef but I just felt my face burning, and coriander. Too much coriander too much spice, less taste. So yeah, this place not fit for kids. But the churros extremely good (the best what I ate on the world). We spent a great time in the restaurant but the place small, too much tables, so too noisy and you cannot talking. Everybody likes that place, they got very good reviews, so I donât think they have to change or reorganize the restaurant or the menu but maybe an option for a not âhot-like-hellâ food on the menu. Not fit for kids, not fit for autism, or...
Read moreWe were in Glasgow for a concert and fancied some Margaritas and Mexican food. Having read the reviews, Topolabamba seemed like a safe bet so we pre-booked as it was a Saturday evening. Unfortunately everything about it was disappointing. First off, the basic Margaritas (we had Classic on the rocks and a frozen mango) tasted like a pre-made mix (like youâd expect in Slug & Lettuce or Wetherspoons). They arrived far too quickly to have been made from scratch, and were served in tumblers, not Margarita glasses, and we werenât given the choice of salted or unsalted rim - they came unsalted. I then ordered a Deluxe Margarita at twice the price. When it eventually arrived after a mis/non communication between our server and the bar which meant I had to re-order, it was actually not bad - served in the correct glass, salted rim and tasted like it had been made from scratch with the proper ingredients.
The food was very âsameyâ, dry and unremarkable - most likely pre-made or frozen. Certainly nothing about any of the five dishes we ordered would entice me back again. Presentation left a lot to be desired - the food looked like it had been chucked onto the plates in a hurry.
We obviously hit âunluckyâ with our server who was disinterested to say the least and appeared totally unsurprised when we asked for the 10% discretionary service charge to be removed from the bill. Perhaps she was just having a bad day.
If youâre looking for good frozen Margaritas in Glasgow that cost less than a tenner, I recommend the Bier Halle. They serve...
Read moreWe are tourists and this restaurant caught out eye, we were walking by so we just went in. It seemed nice and busy. There where a couple of empty tables near the window that seemed for bookings and the whole restaurant was full and booming. We were waiting at the entrance for somebody to help us find a seat. A person came to âhelpâ us, and looked at some papers where probably some bookings where noted. We were shown the tables to our left which were empty and awaiting reservations and were told that there is absolutely nothing available and the wait for a table of 2 is around 40 minutes. There were empty tables though, some customers just have left after we arrived and were not in the âbooked tables sectionâ. I quickly realised that the person in front of me just doesnât like our face thus we do not get to eat there. Its good to know that the business is going so well that they can turn away customers when they do have space for them.đ€đŒ We could have had the chance to visit the Edinburgh chain restaurant but after the Glasgow experience we thought it was best if we just didnât bother.
So make a reservation if you really want to eat here, that way they can not really turn you away for not liking your face or judging you for how much...
