Usually I don't post too many reviews however I felt I absolutely had to for this Little Gem of a place due to the great experience I had!
I had already been past on a few occasions during my stay at Penzance, it was definitely a popular venue without a doubt, busy every night I went past on the way back to my hotel on the Promenade and during my visit tonight I could see why.
The Navy Inn situated right near the Promenade was very inviting and had a lovely homely feel to it, felt very welcomed by the staff, I decided to have the Fish & Chips, this came in great time and I personally felt the price was reasonable, the Fish was definitely Fresh and it tasted lovely, the size was slightly small however this I felt was reflected in the price and I honestly did not mind that as it is definitely about Quality more than Quantity especially if you're eating out! The Chips were also fresh, they had some Skin left on them, however I did not mind this at all as I felt it made the Chips better and they too tasted lovely!
They had a really nice selection of drinks on the bar such as Korev Cornish Lager, Rattlers Cornish Cloudy Cider amongst others such as Carlsberg, Thatchers, San Miguel etc.. There was definitely a nice variety. I went for the Korev and Rattlers, I would definitely have them again!
This place is definitely inviting for all members of the Public, I saw a couple with a lovely dog, also saw a family that had reserved a table next to me and they too all seemed to really enjoy themselves!
The Bar Staff Abbie & Stuart were absolutely lovely and had a great sense of humour, I really appreciated your hospitality! I had not felt this relaxed in a Warm and Lovely Independent Pub in a very long time and would absolutely recommend it to everyone I know should they stay at Penzance/Cornwall at anytime!
Overall if you're looking for somewhere in Penzance for something to eat during your stay whether you are a Tourist or if you are a Local, Please visit The Navy Inn! Absolutely enjoyed my time here and would definitely visit here again should I return to Cornwall! Support Local & Independent Businesses! We all need each other during this...
Read moreI'm ten years old. Last night I went to the Navy Inn for supper and loved it. The food was delicious! They have many good food options for all ages. I had my first mussels (and the best mussels) and when you dip the fresh bread roll into the broth...I don't even know how to describe it. I asked for seconds and the kind waiter brought me more. The staff was incredibly nice. Last but not least, the dessert. There were many options and we chose two things: the brownie and the lemon posset (see photos). The brownie was warm and came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and dark chocolate sauce. It was one of the best brownies I've ever had. (Trust me I've had a LOT of brownies 😁) The lemon posset was sour and sweet. It came with speculoos crumbled on top. It is recommended to book a table and it is not hard at all. We have already booked our next dinner here! Highly...
Read moreI visited here with my wife and son during our holiday around SW Cornwall during the first week of September. We had a day in PZ and were recommended The Navy Inn by the proprietor of The Fire Engine in Marazion. Well, what a pub it is! It seems to have found the perfect blend and balance between serving (great!) food and being a proper pub with great beer. The pub serves food but drinkers are not made to feel like an inconvenience. We found a table and felt very welcome eating our evening meal and having a few drinks (two of the locals Tonks and Mack were top blokes). We came back another evening later in the week and our visit was just as good. The owners have ran the pub around four weeks now and are doing a fantastic job. Well...
