Crown Huddersfield — Restaurant in Kirklees

Went for lunch with friends and the service was really quite comical.

To start with a young waitress slammed some condiments down walked off without a word which came across as a bit grumpy

We ordered some chicken wings as a starter and these arrived with our main meals. No offer by management to take our mains back just a "they do this every time they only have to press a button on the till" one of our orders was supposed to be a well done steak but a gammon arrived. We sent this back and 5 mins later a medium rare steak arrived. We sent this back and requested a refund which was done promptly

We asked for the best way to leave feedback and were told there is a qr code on the menu I think you scan that. Turns out this was just an app to order food

The next thing we know the manager was at our table militantly demanding to know why we were leaving a bad review.

We said we had no intentions of leaving a bad review we were looking for a way to leave feedback for management.

To which she said mistakes happen what do you want me to do in the most aggressive way possible.

I had no intentions of leaving a bad review until the manager decided to approach with her terrible attitude.

I think how quiet this place was compared to how it used to be speaks volumes. The customers are clearly voting with their feet .

Good pub offers good beers and sky sports and bt sports as well and food isn't bad either been in again same really good night very cheap beer on Mondays am going to try the breakfast next. Been back to watch the town game what a brilliant day and Trish was a fantastic in looking after the table we was on. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful its a pub that as had a big face lift and l think it's better for it. Just a update on the 4/6/2022 went in for the Monday club as usual same faces in but some new ones to me which are not my kind of people. Just a shame to spend all that money doing the Crown up to let work men with mucky clothes on sit on cloth seats so when someone with a a nice clean white dress on comes in and sits on oil gun mastic plaster or what ever they have on. Had a good night again for the boxing (AJ) we had a booth to sit in . Also had a bit of trouble with a idiot but Vicki sorted it out very quickly, the DJ played some brilliant...

First time popping in to this pub. Had an ale which was pretty weak and substandard. We ordered food on their app, ordering the Fish & Chips platter, to then be told they didn't do it, and we could have burgers. Offered us an additional drink with the burger, which would have been free (or cheap for the ale) with the burgers anyway).

Chips looked like they were from a packet. The burger was nice, but was quite vinegary. Hard to tell if it was the burger itself or the burger sauce.

Nice looking pub inside though. Probably won't...
