The Boy & Barrel Public House — Restaurant in Kirklees

Visited with my son last night, the pub was very busy and the clientel was a bit rough, one paticular man was pestering me constantly standing over me and chating. He then wheeled a mannequin just head and torso no limbs up to me in a pushchair and proceeded to pick it up and put it on my knee,"meet baby" he said. I put the dummy back in the pushchair the mannequin not the rude uncouth pest of a man. Much to my relief he went away for a while but after a while he was back. He passed by me and has he did he grabbed my leg and squeezed it. Of course I confronted him and to my horror was asked to leave by the bouncers, who were very rude when I tried to explain what had happened they didn't seem to think he'd done anything wrong. I have given 1 star Purley because the manager came to my assistance and was very supportive and promised to look on the security cameras weather he does or not I have no idea but I did appreciate his support at the time. Would be a great pub if the DJ actually had a clue about the clientele. Played his own tunes that cleared the dancefloor. People were waiting to sing on the "karaoke" but they were selected by familiarity it seemed. Entertainment should read the floor and he clearly didn't. Came up from london and stayed in the apartments next door. As soon as we arrived the team were on hand to show us where to go to our room. The pub was great and really well run. Everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere on Friday and Saturday night was great with karaoke!
