Don Luca Pizza — Restaurant in Lancaster

We visited this restaurant about 2 weeks ago and I’ve been hesitant to make a review, however I feel that the way we were treated was disgusting and I don’t want anyone else to feel this way! My husband went in earlier in the day to book a table for us knowing it was a Saturday and the manager at the front reception was so rude, he said “make sure your out by 6.30”. It didn’t feel right but then my husband loves these sort of pizzas and we decided to go ahead as it was something he was looking forward to and the great reviews! However When we arrived, all the staff were huddled at reception, all staring at us like as if we had something wrong with us and the manager had to say “are you going to get them a table” to the waitress.

When we were sat, we were given the menus and told we’re told to make our order at the counter and told we had to make payment then and there, thought nothing of it but later when other guests arrived they were given the option to pay later once they have finished, I don’t know if they felt like a family of 5 we’re literally going to run off after eating there food. Not a good vibe at all honestly! I’ve never felt this way when visiting a restaurant!

The waitress then messed our order up, as we did not get a receipt, we expected everything to be in order. The food arrived except my pizza. I thought it may come out in a few minutes- 15 minutes later nothing. No one came to ask if everything was okay, if we needed anything, felt of more an inconvenience than anything as we had to keep trying to reach the staff for things such as straws, had to get our own salt and pepper and we felt like elephants in the room.

When I asked the waitress where my pizza was, she was like “oh yeh your veggie pizza”, went to check and then said it wasn’t on the order and I had to wait for it to be made. Pizza came when my family nearly finished there food, I felt absolutely horrible in this place with my family.

At the end of the meal when’s we were preparing to leave, there’s was a smerk on the managers face, didn’t even come to apologise to us. Please don’t visit this place of you have a young family! Absolutely terrible service which absolutely...

Just had a really delicious couple of pizzas from here. Pizza base was top notch, lovely tomato sauce, and the pepperoni was really tasty and crispy on the edges. I had the Diablo (can’t remember exactly what it was called) but it was incredible, it says it has scotch bonnet on the top, I really didn’t think it would but it did!!! Not sure if they were scotch bonnets, tasted a bit like naga, but it was super tasty, spicy and amazing. We also had a garlic bread, I normally like a tomato base on those, this didn’t have that but was all the better for not having it, really garlicky and tasty. An alround pizza treat. Better than average definitely. I had a pizza with just salty Italian ham the name of which I can't spell. The meat was tasty. Little bit too salty for my taste but nice. The pizza base was tasty. Very floppy. They don't overload with toppings which I like. Not too much cheese which was tasty. The tomato base is nice. Nothing special. Needs bit more zing to it. I opted for oregano forgetting that fresh oregano isn't that nice when cooked like that and it tainted the taste a little bit. My fault for having it.
