I really wanted to try this place and so decided to book it for my birthday celebration meal. I did read some of the negative reviews beforehand, however still wanted to try it for myself. The place has a lot of potential and is in a good location with the aesthetic of the restaurant being very contemporary and chic. Since it has undergone a recent refurb we had high expectations. It was the weekend after it had relaunched. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with this place. Upon arrival we were seated quickly and when it came time to order we went for the wagyu steak with mash. We were informed that the food comes out in a tapas style so we may receive food at different intervals. That’s not ideal as the mash is an accompaniment to the steak. Anyway we proceeded to wait a further 15-20 minutes only for the waitress to return and notify us that they had run out of potatoes so mash was a no go therefore we selected the mac & cheese as an alternative. This is despite it being 6pm on a Saturday evening which is still considered fairly early and a busy night to be out of a key ingredient so early. A few moments went by and our steak had arrived with the mac & cheese following shortly after. before we began to tuck in, another waitress popped over with the mash that I think was supposed to be going to a different table but they did leave it on our table in the end and didn’t charge us for it. So they clearly weren’t out of mash. We then had to ask for the sauce to accompany the steaks as this seemed to have been forgotten. The communication internally isn’t great and it is very apparent. Our last hopes lay in the food and considering wagyu steaks are on the pricier side, we expected good things however our hopes were dashed pretty quick as even the steak was way overcooked and had crusted on the outside. The food was a strong 5/10 at best and overall very lacklustre. We also tried out the rooftop shisha bar, although the shisha was really good, the dessert menu hadn’t been updated so they didn’t have anything we actually wanted and were out of half of the menu so we settled on hot chocolate which too was as bad as the rest of the food and was like drinking warm milk. The place looks nice but it lacks everything else you expect from an established restaurant especially for the prices listed. Not impressed and likely won’t be...
Read moreNever usually one to write a review but this was genuinely the worst restaurant experience of my life - and I dine out very often. I was very excited to come here and had planned the trip for a few weeks. It was a 3 hour round-trip for me but I’m a fan of both Zannettis so was worth it. When we arrived, security that greeted us was hostile and condescending. I have never been looked up and down like that before. I’m not massive on social media, and seeing the menu was mainly comprised of burgers and chips u didn’t realise this was a fancy place. The security guy said to us “this is a fine dining experience, I’ll let you off this time but next time make sure you come dressed properly”. I should have walked out at this point but I carried on. The service staff were rude, arrogant, dismissive, and made us feel unwanted. They forgot our drinks, the food was mid, and when it came to dessert and shisha they kept changing their story and saying “we’ve just received a booking we don’t have space till 10”. We said no problem we will wait till 10 as we want shisha. He then came back and said “actually 11.30, probably best if you come back another time”. They just wanted us gone. Zanetti and his kids were also there - what awful arrogant people. This is a man I respected before. He was so so rude to the staff. His kids were belligerent. Zanetti got up and made a big scene about his burger not being right in front of a busy restaurant. How embarrassing. We were told to dress to impress, but him and his kids were in tracksuits and caps. The toilets were filthy, and zanettis son was smoking in there. Honestly this place was a total dive and an embarrassment to Leeds. I have never been so appalled at a place. No regard for customers that aren’t famous or influencers. Definitely felt looked down upon and treated like we were less than. Little did they know we are all CEO’s and MD’s....
Read moreWent to this restaurant shisha lounge for my birthday on a Friday. The first thing that greeted us was the extremely loud music almost deafening. There was 3 of us and we were seated straight away with no advance booking needed which was a positive. We tried to order our food but unfortunately due to the extremely high volume of the music we could not hear the server, the server couldn’t hear us and I couldn’t hear the words leaving my own mouth I asked a server if this level of music was the norm and was told that they do play the music extra loud on a Friday and Saturday. And I told him that we couldn’t even communicate with the people on our table and this was a restaurant not a night club. He said he would ask the dj to lower the volume. The volume was lowered all of 5 mins and then the music was turned up yet again to the deafening level. The dj is awful playlist not really restaurant or shisha bar type.
The food arrived and honestly the food is amazing and it’s only saving grace from a ruined evening. After trying to lip read what my friends were talking to me about I decided to address the volume issue with someone in a suit that could hopefully do something about it.
Adam was extremely professional. And if u have to shout at ur customer and the customer has to shout at u to he heard then there is a serious problem. Adam did his best to make sure the rest of our night was enjoyable but honestly the damage had been done.
To make things better for future customers I suggest that in the indoor restaurant area the music should be background n not so high so one can enjoy a meal n a chat with the company they are with. Keep the music loud in the...
