AWFUL SECURITY AWFUL SECURITY Not welcoming for ethnic communities heavy discrimination! I am mortified! I’m extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at drydock the security manhandled me despite no aggression from my behalf the female security was racist and discriminative against me as proven in the way she was treating me. Two white drunk girls were treated extremely different to me despite them getting agressive and loud to the security the security told them to just sit and come back in an hour she just completely ignored and disgarded me. I have never felt so degraded before until now then she told later on other security at walkabout not to accommodate me as a paying customer. I did not expect racism to be an issue in 2023 how embarrassing more embarrassing this was allowed to happen. . I am autistic as well which makes my understandings to situations different as I interpret life differently because of my disability. I put a bruise of my arm left by the security guard at drydock !

This is a great bar right opposite Leeds Beckett Civic Quarter campus. The premises looks very unique inside (owing to the fact it's an actual boat that's been gutted and repurposed as a bar) so it's not the sort of bar you'd forget visiting in a hurry. It has character and charm, and it's good to see how well that's been maintained with the décor looking very fresh and lively. They have plentiful deals on food and drink (catering for the student budget) and different events throughout the week ensuring that whatever day you visit they'll always been something going on. Our bartender was Diya and she was very friendly, professional and quick to serve us with our drinks. She was excellent all evening, and really made us feel welcome. Whether you're visiting Leeds, are on a night out, or a local student, then you really should visit Dry Dock for quality surroundings and decent priced food and drink.

The bouncers are very defensive and try to intimidate you, asking “why you got handbag” - do they realise this is a stop on the otley run? Are they not employed to make me the consumer feel safe in your venue ? Then it was “We search throughly” he was counting my money and when i questioned him, he asked me to stand to a side and raised his voice and tried to intimidate me so i just took my whole party elsewhere. Once inside you never have a problem from previous visits however the security clearly needs some form of training because the 5ft 10 man with the dark beard and the receding hairline that goes all the way back to his arsecrack had no room to judge anyone.

Where to start? I can give props to the aesthetics. The ship design is really appealing to the eye and I do absolutely enjoy the look they are going for.

And that is where the good stuff ends. Toilets have no locks on them, just to make things awkward. I ordered a singular portion of fries. It took 1 hour for the fries to come. My friends gained their meals about 40 minutes before I got my fries, and everyone around us was either getting or not getting their meals. Bit of a weird setup.

On top of that, the food we got was cold, quite unsatisfying and my friends weren't too pleased. Their portions were almost childlike for what they paid, and one of the members of staff (wish I could remember the name) made a few muttering off comments about us asking when the food was coming after 50 minutes of waiting.

Wish the aesthetics weren't the only good thing but there's only room for...
