Went in here this morning on a whim, walked past it and saw it did coffee. We then decided we wanted food and well, I for one was blown away. I'm a vegan and I often feel like vegan breakfasts at a lot of places are afterthoughts and just whatever on the menu happens to be vegan is thrown on the plate. At Cafe St. Paul's it felt like just as much care was put into my breakfast as a "normal" one. The vegan sausages were excellent quality but didn't try to be fancy or flashy. Lovely flavour that complimented the breakfast. The home made hashbrowns were out of this world. Crispy and seasoned well, leagues better than out of the packet hashbrowns that most places offer. I reckon the hash browns themselves are worthing coming for. The tomato relish was amazing, and you'd think that with the grilled tomatoes aswell it would be too much, but no. The grilled tomatoes came with their own seasoning and they became their own event. Mushrooms are usually either served too wet or way too dry, but this was perfectly done and tasted fresh and not over powering. The toast - sour dough was amazing. Sourdough toast gets overplayed a lot these days and loses its quality but this was amazing and had that real authentic sourdough feel and toasted perfectly. An absolutely fantastic breakfast through out all. A breakfast that lifted the spirits!
The service was great, super polite and helpful! An unexpected but amazing time.

Read moreFirst time here today, decided to visit Lincoln and grab some lunch, before we headed home. Great little cafe, staff were friendly, chatty and attentive, but not too much in your face. It had a really nice relaxed feel about the place. My partner and I both had the pulled chipotle beef panini, with mustard, pickle and cheese. It came with a side order of skin on fries and a generous salad garnish. The beef was so tender, and balanced well with the other ingredients,in short , it tasted sublime. The fries were just the right amount of crispy and the dressing on the salad was also very tasty. Not over priced, and good quality ingredients. Great menu, with some really nice food combinations on it. If we visit Lincoln again , we'll definitely try the small plates, next time. Great little find, next to a central carpark, near the Cathedral and also...
Read moreGood choice of gluten free options. Expensive for what you get, I had 2 small plates, a side, dessert and a small glass of wine, £40 later I was still hungry. I don’t mind paying it if the portions and quality reflect the price. I’m not sure the chicken thigh salad even had the meat off a whole chicken thigh - hardly any on the plate. For £10 I expected more. The roasted beetroot on whipped feta was ok but unremarkable, I basically paid £8 for 1 small beetroot to be cut into 8 pieces - tbh it was like something I’d have made myself. The whipped feta was bland - I actually couldn’t remember what it was when I was eating it (thought it was mashed potato). The service was excellent, just a shame the food overpromised but under delivered for the price. Had it been cheaper I would’ve felt...
