Here at 7.45am, as one of the first customers I wasn't sure what to expect. Especially after reading all the other reviews... but I was pleasantly surprised They were setting up outside and immediately came in with me to take my order. Lady brought my breakfast to the table, all very speedy and polite, with a smile. I ordered a cheese and ham croissant which they offered to warmup, it was nice (okay, I had two so technically croissants, plural!), but the coffee was EXCELLENT! I always have black Americanos, no sugar, just plain coffee, and you'll be surprised how often I have to ask for extra water as it's bitter or sugar, and worst case if there's no saving it... milk. But not this time, this Americano was so good! So smooth! Incredible. I had to get another one to take away just because it was so good! Also music was a nice vibe, upbeat. Thank you for a great start to my day!

Friendly staff, great food and coffee, and plenty of seating, power, and WiFi. This is where people come to hang out in the day.

New staff is not as good as previous people. A waitress came and left our coffee soaked badly, without asking anything, nor doing a little intention about cleaning it or feeling sorry about it, clearly without any will to work, I felt like I was annoying her. We used to come here almost every day but not worth it anymore. Dirty tables. Google says it closes at 1800 but at 1645 they have half bar semi closed. When you access the place they look at you clearly like they don't want you there. When they ask stay in or take away they clearly want you to take away. I mean, I understand is Sunday, but it is not fair for customers. Edit: It was 2 stars now is 1 because after their response telling me to contact via email, I did contact but no one responded so their polite response is just to look like they care but actually they don't

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE | CROSS CONTAMINATION

  1. Customer Service

Me and my girlfriend went in yesterday on the 26th of April 2025 and we had the worst customer service we’ve ever had and shocking food quality. See below:

I went up to the counter and ordered a wrap, a pot of tea and a chocolate muffin. We were told our breakfast tea and muffin would be brought over shortly, and I was given my wrap to take to the table. Fine so far.

We sat at the table and it was taking a long time for the tea and muffin to come over. Considering it’s literally only a pot of tea and there were no more drinks, this was surprising, but I used to be a barista for about 4 years so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Eventually, a male member of staff came over and brought the muffin but no tea.

He said ā€œthe chocolate muffin?ā€ And I thanked him for the muffin and responded ā€œthat’s ours please. There’s also a breakfast tea tooā€ and rather than receive a polite response of something as simple as ā€œit’s on the way shortlyā€, the male member of staff who was clearly having a bad day already was very blunt and snappy.

In response to me asking for an update on the tea, he threw his hands up and snappily stated ā€œI’m not on drinks! It’ll be with you when it’s ready to be servedā€

I just said ā€œthat’s no problem mate, that’s fine, thank youā€ and he left. If he had said the same but just nicely, it would’ve been fine, but his tone of voice was awful. If he had politely stated something as simple as ā€œI’m not on drinks so I’m unsure where that will be, but I can checkā€ that would’ve been fine. But instead, he just got defensive and snappy.

Sad thing is, I’ve previously been a barista for 4 years and I also worked for the very same 200 Degrees Met Quarter store for a brief time when it first opened, so I know how much 200 Degrees used to pride themselves on customer service and the quality of their products. God knows what’s happened.

Now, onto the cross contamination:

  1. CROSS CONTAMINATION

After the tea was eventually delivered to the table, my girlfriend went to eat her chocolate muffin before noticing something on the muffin. After inspection and cutting the strange thing she noticed on the muffin, whatever it was, was green inside and smelled spicy/fragrant. Whatever it was, it wasn’t anything chocolate-related. I’ve attached a picture to show.

I’ve worked for 200 Degrees. I know the standards and training they put you through and it’s very meticulous (at least it was around 5 years ago when I worked for them).

The lad in the shop genuinely gave us the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and it’s not even close.

The ā€œgentlemanā€ who was rude had medium lengthen hair that was dark, has a strong moustache and was wearing a floral-type of shirt. He was working in the store on April 26th 2025 at about 4pm. I get we all have things going on, but still, his rudeness was very abrupt and just unnecessary when all I did was ask for an update on...

Passed by this morning to grab a coffee before work and quite frankly, I wish I hadn’t bothered. When I walked into the store there were only 2 girls in front of me who were chatting away to the barista, I waited in line for my turn. Well, my turn never came, I never got served and I just got ignored. The two girls on shift purposefully bypassed me and chose to pretend to look busy instead of actually doing any work. Considering there was no one else in the shop, having to wait 5-10 minutes to even be acknowledged is appalling. If you don’t want to serve customers, why bother being open at all.

I chose to walk across the road to Black Sheep Coffee where I got much better service and much better coffee.

I would consider a little refresher course for your staff on how to interact with customers, it seems that is something that is lacking as it is a common theme across many of the bad...
