Before I get to the bad bit I would say that Tom behind the bar at the Cavern quarter site was hard working and really nice. We enjoyed the activities. However, the site was very understaffed and it meant that some staff were working very hard and some weren't. There was a large group of us including people with visible disabilities and some disabilities that weren't visible . We had to wait for an hour for some food one order half came after 40 minutes and some food never came at all. An experienced supervising member of staff seemed no where to be seen. So you have minimally experienced staff left to deal with customers who cant get served at the bar and are not getting food that has been paid for. When we complained we were told we had ordered at a table down stairs (but we were upstairs) we said we hadn't ordered any food downstairs. Most managers would come round from behind the bar and introduce themselves and say I believe you have a problem very sorry to hear that how can i help ? We had to raise our voices above the music to be heard no one swore no names were called no one was abused no one started filming any staff. But we just wanted our food, but we were asked to leave. Read moreBooked a 4-activity day for my family (6 people) so we could all get together for a birthday but it was absolutely NOT worth the £300* cost - Mini golf course had missing panels of turf in odd spots that would be easy to confuse for intentional holes/gimmicks, the lights on the bowling lane would randomly go dark, causing confusion on when we were allowed to go again + balls would also get stuck at the end and have all groups (us + 2 other sets of unrelated people) having to wait for the machine to catch up/for staff assistance. Food was pretty decent but hotdog burns were burnt, and the karaoke room we were put in the end had a faulty connection and caused songs to frequently buffer/lag, stop & start, etc. which required staff assistance 3 times. The staff themselves were lovely and the only reason this review isn't a lower rating is because of their care and understanding of the venue's flaws and attempts to offer compensation and alternatives wherever possible, overall a lovely team of people - whoever manages or runs roxy ballroom cavern quarter though I hope takes steps soon to fix all of these flaws in their game areas so people aren't booking such absurd prices for half-baked...
Read moreWe booked a karaoke room from 11:30 PM to 1:00 AM but were only let into the room at 11:40 because the previous group was still in there. Despite losing time at the start, at 12:50, staff started coming into the room to clean, taking glasses that still had drinks in them, which ruined the atmosphere. The room itself was uncomfortably hot the entire time.
To make matters worse, at 12:55, all the staff came into the room and told us to leave, even though we had booked until 1:00. One of our group members needed to use the restroom before we left, but they weren’t allowed to go, even though it was still during our paid time.
The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. One employee even became aggressive, falsely claiming we had received 10 minutes for free and could have come earlier because the room was available (which was untrue, as we were told to wait until 11:40). His behavior was so inappropriate that a security guard had to intervene and tell him to stop.
Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience. The poor service, unprofessional staff, and general attitude ruined what was supposed to be a fun night. I would not recommend this...
