Ordered an uber eats from this restaurant and it was the worst experience ever. I have ate here before and loved it so decided to try an uber eats from there. Worst decision ever. Waited 2 and a half hours for delivery but that's not the worst of it. My order was actually ready for pickup after half an hour and I was contacted by a delivery driver to get my address. As he was on a bicycle he deemed it to far and the website informed me it was waiting for a new driver. My food was then sat there for over an hour and a half before a driver picked it up. When it was finally delivered it was obviously stone stone cold. The driver actually told he was paid 40 pounds as it was a delivery that had been waiting a long time. I contacted the restaurant and on the 3rd time was successful. The lady was extremely rude and told me to contact uber. I was simply enquiring why they would send a meal that they know is freezing cold. She informed me they would not make a new meal as they would not be paid for it and it was upto uber to reimburse me. She informed me they were a business so would not make a fresh meal even if it was cold, as I was still questioning this she hung up on me. I have documented every step of this order to prove how long it was sat there. The really really bad thing was before I threw the food straight into the bin as it was inedible I decided to take a picture of the chicken as it had been sat there going cold. To my shock it wasn't even cooked properly and was pink and bloody. The absolute worst experience with a restaurant EVER and never have I experienced such bad customer service and awful food on any order. See...
Read moreMy Husband and I were spending a weekend in Liverpool and frequently visit Mathew Street. We’d not really paid attention to Tirtlt Bay previously as we go to Mathew street for the whole Beatles vibe but the day we visited (Saturday 25/05/24) we fancied lunch and decided to try Turtle bay as we spotted it from Sg Peppers bar opposite. We couldn’t believe how big and vibrant the place was. It looks tiny from the rear entrance in Mathew Street. We were greeted by a guy called Adam and was served throughout the afternoon by Katie. Both of them had excellent customer service and went above and beyond during a very busy afternoon. The cocktails were 2-4-1 and were delicious. Mixed to perfection. We had three each! The food was fantastic. We enjoyed our visit and the offer on the cocktails so much that we returned the following day! This time we also enjoyed a starter, as well as a main and more cocktails. We were served by Lydia and once again the service was great. The main was slightly delayed, we asked about the delay as we felt the kitchen staff may have overlooked our order. We were immediately given 20% off our entire bill as it did appear the meals hadn’t been prepared but were served very soon after we had asked. The fact that there was a no quibble amicable and prompt solution, and that we recognise the staff are human and things can get overlooked under pressure, we were still delighted with our second visit, the food, atmosphere, decor, drinks and staff are all fantastic and we very much look forward to visiting again next time we are...
Read moreKnowing what this place used to be like, I can't rate it more then 2 stars. We used to be regular guests whenever we were in the city. Food used to be great, tasty and hot with big portions and cocktails used to be in proper glasses with beautiful decorations that made drink really appealing. They used to play great Caribbean music. Then we haven't been there for few years and now everything has changed to much worse. The place still looks the same but it doesn't not have that vibe anymore and on the day we were there ( Saturday late afternoon) loud modern music was blaring from the speakers... No Caribbean music and no atmosphere. Food menu has changed, loosing all the good stuff from the prawn mango wrap to lamb stew.... We ordered sharer meat and got 2 tiny sausages, 2 incredibly small small pieces of ribs and 2 bites of chicken with very dry rice that was supposed to be coconut rice but was overcooked and dry rice with beans instead. Cocktails were in standard IKEA 250 ml glass with no decorations and very watery with very little taste to it. And the prices.... Too expensive for what you get for the money. I think it's safe to say we will not...
