Mixed bag. Wasn't too impressed with the staff despite having about 10 waiters floating around. We weren't asked for drinks for 20 mins and they came 20 mins later. Our first course didn't come for another 30 minutes after this. We weren't sure what the reasons were for this, but the staff did come over and apologise, but nothing more than this.

Front of house was great. He seemed to be doing 50 times more than anyone else and was friendly and attentive. It was his intervention that seemed to get attention to us. The rest of the staff just seemed vacant and were unfriendly. No one came to us despite it being painfully obvious we weren't being served and had nothing on our table! The staff argued in Italian clearly in front of customers when we first arrived and also from the kitchen to which was open in view of some customers which made an uneasy environment.

However, the food was pretty good. Would recommend on that front. Despite it looking really simple and unassuming, it was flavoursome and tasty.

I would put down my experience as a one off judging from others reviews, but ultimately I don't have a positive opinion and couldn't recommend it based on our sole experience. This is despite being very sympathetic to restaurants during covid which are doubly busy.

Service...

Blown away by this little gem! I had spotted this place on find me gluten free and after seeing all the positive reviews decided to give it a try. The atmosphere on walking in was lovely and we was greeted by a lovely gentleman at the door who we later got chatting to called Yohan. I was amazed by the insane amount of gluten free options on the menu, never have I been to a restaurant where you can order gluten free lasagne, so of course that’s what I got, I also shared a gluten free garlic bread with my husband and had the caprise starter, my husband had the calamari and seafood linguine!! Now when I say this food was on another level… the lasagne was perfect, the gluten free garlic bread wasn’t like your normal frisbee type gluten free rubbish you get in most places you could literally tell the dough had been freshly made!! My husband absolutely loved his and honestly there wasn’t a single thing we could fault!! Special thanks to the lovely gentleman yohan he genuinely was the most loveliest person and you can tell he really cares about his customers and takes an interest in the people he is serving! I will most...

My fiancee and I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and we had a mostly enjoyable experience. The venue was clean and nicely decorated, though there was a bit of a queue at the front door which caused some inconvenience - I ended up standing right by the door and got hit in the back when it slammed shut. However, the fast and friendly service made up for it.

The atmosphere was bustling and lively, which may not be to everyone's taste, but we enjoyed it. The alcoholic drinks were a highlight - they were expertly made and hit the spot.

I ordered the 20-ounce special steak and requested it to be cooked medium rare. While the presentation was impressive and the taste was enjoyable, it was disappointing that it was cooked just shy of rare. On the other hand, my fiancee's spicy pasta dish was not as spicy as expected but was still delicious.

Overall, our experience at this restaurant was pleasant. Despite a few minor hiccups, the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere made for an...

If you're a pizza lover, skip this one! I've heard lots of good things about this place but I was bitterly disappointed - my £13 meat feast arrived looking like something my niece made in food tech in school. The base tasted like the cheap Iceland pizzas, with a kind of soggy biscuity texture. Genuinely the worst pizza I've ever had in a restaurant, and yet more expensive than most of the city's best pizza places. The Nduja pizza my friend ordered was even worse too - it had 3 little dabs of the stuff on one side of the pizza and that was it! Couldn't believe how stingy the toppings were. Drinks were reasonably priced and the cocktails were lovely, and looking all the glowing reviews I'm wondering if I just went on an off night? It feels like it's supposed to be a casual, family-friendly Italian-ish place, so I wasn't expecting authenticity or anything too fancy, but for the prices they're charging they need to up their game.

Great venue for a lovely meal, in really nice surroundings. The table for our pre booked meal was on the top level of a two level restaurant - great views :-) We all enjoyed our Italian cuisine, everything served on time, piping hot - & very tasty - I have to say, the level of service was brilliant, even the fact that it was a very busy Saturday night, didn't deter the staff from looking after us on a personal level (sometimes it felt like we were enjoying celebrity status - oh how the other half lives !!). Would I recommend Trattoria 51 - of course I would, no hesitation here - reasonable prices for cuisine, & beers ( the pleasantness of the staff was free ;-) ) DO check out the dessert selection - you won't be disappointed....
