JustPlay — Local services in Liverpool

The guys who run this place are very approachable, happy to just chat about the hobby, no pressure to buy anything. You can turn up and grab a table to play a few games of X-Wing or GuildBall or whatever it is you collect and they come over to chat, they're interested. They're happy to give advice on purchases or just general hobby information if you're looking to get into something new. They have a large number of tables available for gaming and you can buy snacks on-site too if you're there for a few hours. While their range is good, if there is something in particular you are after they're usually happy to jump online and see if they can order it - they'll even give you a shout once it's arrived and you can come in and collect at your leisure. And then there's the tournaments and promotions.

Being a Star Wars fan, I play a lot of X-Wing and played my first and - so far only - tournament there and it was a blast. Well-organized and a lot of fun, and the staff were there to support you throughout the day. Looking forward to the Star Wars Destiny launch party in a fortnight as well! Great price for the starter set along with some promotional limited edition extras! The community that has grown around JustPlay is fantastic. Edit: After having a negative experience with pre-ordering the owner got back to me. After which, I came back and ordered some more books. True to the guy's word, it's a lot better.

Place seems like a really good spot to hang out, and well done to the owner for rectifying the problem.

Pre ordered several books from here as they are priced cheaper than the official retailer. Came in only to be told they had lost/sold my copy, and that the book in question was out of print.

Mistakes happen, however, every time I preorder from here, it’s clear the staff do not separate, or even label, their pre-ordered items. It’s just crammed into a few draws. Negligent.

Initially had a miscommunication over a pre order falling through that came across quite badly so went to the store and spoke to a manager in person who was very friendly who reassured me things weren't how they seemed and he would attempt to get things sorted. I shortly after received a phone call from one of the owners who took the time to have a chat with me about what had happened and apologised for the mix up, I also used me the chance to apologise for my initial review which was an over reaction in hindsight. I really appreciate the staff putting time aside to resolve the situation and my faith is restored that this store does care about their customers and are absolutely...
