I wouldn't have written my complaint about my experience in this place and I wouldn't have stayed in trifles as I ran for more than 10 years a similar business ( coffee bar) in Athens, selling 12 kilos of ground coffee a day plus food and cocktails. Running a business for 10 years and being 24/7 with customers and 12 employees I would consider myself able to read easily behaviours and expediencies from staff and their administration in order them to make more money. As an adorer of Italian cuisine and the aesthetic of its environment,Italian always play a crucial role to the gastronomy and always there a lot of things that you can learn from their knowledge First time my friend and i decided to sat to uplevel of the store as we hadn't been upstairs before.Once we saw the environment we said each other "that's a very cosy place and that it would be our posto." A pleasant weatress came straight ,took the order. We ordered 2 plates of pasta, sparkling water and esspeso. The espresso hasn't got any robusta, not because of the high content of Arabica in the blend. It might have happened because of the temperature of the coffee machine or from the blend ( poor quality), or from the capability of the barista. Anyway, the pasta was exceptional and we really enjoyed. There wasn't more than 15 minutes when we finished eating and a waiter came straight to our table and took our empty plates without asking. He only thing he asked was if we wanted to order something else. Soon after he bought us the bill and by showing a very arrogant behaviour he provoking us to pay and leave. Unexeptable behaviour and all that for the money So...
Read moreUnfortunately I had an awful experience here. Went with 5 others for brunch. Our server forgot items ordered - including one persons entire dish until we reminded them, then bringing this out while everyone was already half way through their meal. We found a hair in a dish and the one brought out late was clearly rushed and not done to the same standard (we ordered two of the same) We let the hair slide as it was just one and these things happen sometimes. When we got the bill we were charged full price for the late dish. I went over to the server to enquire about this and kindly asked if they would consider taking 20% off the dish price for the mistake? She immediately got aggressive and argued with me saying but it was only 5 minutes late, when I explained that the time didn’t matter it was the issue with having to remind them and have one person sit waiting and start eating while everyone else was almost finished, she interrupted me and rudely said fine I will pay for the dish out of good will but it was only 5minutes, this was not really a big issue. She then went on to gossip about me to her colleague while we were still waiting to pay. The whole experience was humiliating and so disappointing considering all other highly positive reviews that led us to booking here. The food itself was tasty and good value but would never return due to the awful customer service. This was a short trip to Liverpool and the last thing we did before we left, massively ruined our last day. Appalled and shocked that this was viewed as acceptable and at no point did we...
Read moreWe paid about £28 (2 people), and we got the avocado toast with poached egg, pancakes with maple syrup, a mocha and cappuccino. The quality of the cooked breakfast was excellent and you could really taste the freshness of thr avocado and all the ingredients were utilised to potential.
A minor critiques (this is me being very nitpicky!):
Due to the venue being on the first floor, it is not wheelchair accessible. I am not a wheelchair user but I want to include this point for wheelchair users.
For the coffee, it's not too strong; a well-balanced taste. The chocolate powder they use isn't the sweet kind and they use whole milk to give it more velvety texture. It's generally good as far as coffee.
The staff are friendly but it was clear that this place is very popular, as we didn't book beforehand. If you come around 10 am with 2 people on a weekend expect to wait around 15 - 20 min for a table if you haven't booked. The wait is worth it however! Coupled with nice modern decor, this brunch place is truly a gem of liverpool for brunch, and I will make sure to tell anyone to come here if they want a good...
