I'll be honest - I'd never heard of Castros until a work mate told me about it! As a foodie I was astonished and ashamed 🫣 My son and I visited on Saturday 23rd August around 2pm. . .

What an absolute food gem! No wonder I hadn't seen it - it's hidden down a little side street and my eyesight is terrible but tastebuds enhanced to make up for it! 👀

As we walked in the vibe took over! Salsa music playing - everybody was smiling/laughing, staff and customers.

I felt like dancing like JLo on steroids.

We ordered The Mechada - pulled brisket with roasted peppers, onions, cheese and Mojo Picon which is a salsa 👌🏽 and The Pollo - chicken marinaded in garlic, parsley and olive oil, with fonita cheese, salad and mayo.

We also ordered the brisket loaded fries 🫣👌🏽Two glasses of Estrella Galicia and we were more than good to go!

Everything in here is super fresh!

We sat outside on two chairs with a beer keg for our table. Loved it!

Literally 5 mins and the waitress brought our food and beers out!

Incredible service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food . . .

Wow - wow - wow! The butties were massive! The bread was perfect to carry the load. Firm and crusty on the outside yet deliciously soft inside. Every bite was a taste sensation. Luckily each huge butty was cut in half so we shared our precious butties.

Both The Merchada and Pollo were incredible in their own rights. The pulled brisket of The Mechada was melt in the mouth sensational! The garlic chicken and fondue cheese of The Pollo was incredible. Both flavour bombs going off blew our heads off! I kid you not 👌🏽

The loaded fries were also incredible. The pulled brisket again with cheese and house sauce - to die for 👌🏽

We both agreed that these were without doubt the 'best' butties we had ever eaten! That is no exaggeration 🙏🏼 Castros is now on our favourite places to eat in Liverpool.

We cannot wait to go back.

Thank you...

If you're looking for a truly delicious meal in Liverpool, look no further than Castros Liverpool and their Mechada sandwich. This is a sandwich that truly delivers on taste, with perfectly cooked and seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and bread that's toasted to perfection.

The Mechada sandwich is a standout dish at Castros Liverpool, and it's easy to see why. The meat is cooked low and slow, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth texture that's bursting with flavor. It's then paired with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, and served on perfectly toasted bread that adds a satisfying crunch to every bite.

But what really sets Castros Liverpool's Mechada sandwich apart is the attention to detail. Each element of the sandwich has been carefully considered and prepared with the utmost care, resulting in a dish that's not just delicious, but also beautiful to look at. The presentation is stunning, making the meal even more enjoyable.

The service at Castros Liverpool is also exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is perfect. From the moment you step through the door to the moment you leave, you'll feel like a valued guest who is being taken care of by experts in their field.

Overall, if you're looking for a meal that's both delicious and memorable, the Mechada sandwich at Castros Liverpool is an absolute must-try. With its perfectly cooked meat, fresh vegetables, and attention to detail, it's a sandwich that truly stands out in a sea of mediocre meals. Highly...

You step inside this cafe, and your greeted with a friendly smile and welcome! The food was fantastic, like travelling back to Tenerife, in fact if I shut my eyes and walked through the door, with Borja and Joe friendly hellos, I would think I am still in Tenerife! The chicken sandwich was out of this world! The mechada (brisket) was just like they make in Spain! We also had the pata (pork loin) and it was beautiful and had smoky cheese on it which complemented it all together! The buttys were in the beautiful fresh and crunchy bread and was just amazing! We also tried the meatballs, with a rich tomato sauce (top tip ask for more bread you will want to mop it up!), The Tortilla was the best Tortilla I have tried in the UK beautiful gooey goodness in the middle, and the home made alioli was amazing! The papas arrugadas were out of this world with the red mojo sauce that wasn't spicy but had a bit of heat to help with a cold day like today! Overall fantastic place to visit! Wish we lived closer and we would be in here everyday, but we'll worth the drive from Leeds just to get a taste of Tenerife and the perfect feeling of just being at home in your local cafe! Fantastic job guys keep it! Suerte!...
