Concert Square, Liverpool — Restaurant in Liverpool

Stopped by Concert Square in Liverpool after being offered a card for a free shot while walking past. Seemed like a nice gesture—until we sat down and were told they had “run out” of the shot. Felt like a bait-and-switch tactic just to get people in.

We ordered drinks to the table and waited… and waited. Meanwhile, we watched multiple people who went directly to the bar receive their drinks far quicker than us. After about 15 minutes, we asked a server who took the order where our drinks were. He said he’d check but continued serving other tables without following up. Asked again, got the same vague response. Only after 25 minutes from entering did we finally get our drinks.

It’s a shame, really—Concert Square could be a great spot with its nice outdoor area. But the service was frustratingly slow and disorganized. With so many similar venues in Liverpool offering better service and value, we won’t be returning. Plenty of better options nearby.

Funny enough, on our way out we told the lady offering the free shots that they had run out, that didn't stop her from handing...

Visited the Lime Kiln. Beers as usual good. Good selection. However, decided to eat there for steak night. Had the 14oz Aberdeen Angus baked potato etc. Steak awful. My jaws are still aching. Don't think the cooking of it was poor as much as it was poor quality tough tasteless meat. Never mind. Lesson learned. Next week after tai chi just have a couple of beers and go somewhere else for dinner and wine. Normally you are asked how is your meal but not last night. After having to try and cook it they...

Where I always have the best nights out. Love the choice of bars/clubs in this area and all the outside seating area where there is heated lamps for when its a bit colder. All the bars are free entry which is amazing and each one has a different style of music to suit everyone. There are always student offers for drinks inside with a good range of cocktails too. In the day this is also a great place to go and grab food /watch football and other sports...
