AVOID!! I arranged a baby shower for my sister and honestly from start to finish never felt so uncomfortable at a place I paid for the service. Myself and the mum to be arrived early as we had made some favours for a the table. To be met by the owner stood at the top of the stairs literally looking down on us, the first thing she said was "and where do you think you're going with that" I feel maybe hello would be a better way to welcome paying customer's as the way I was addressed set the tone for the day. Fair enough the owner advised it does state in the terms that were sent via email you couldn't bring them, my fault I didn't read the terms and conditions. Must also be in the terms about paying the balance 14 days prior to booking (this makes sense now as if you were to pay on the day I doubt anyone would pay for the service JAM provides) The food (afternoon tea) I'd be surprised if any of it was fresh. I Did enjoy the scone but that's about it. From the not so warm welcome, to the manager stood head counting and watching us it all felt very much like a school trip for badly behaved children. I'd advise anyone who is thinking of booking JAM to book a Karen restaurant atleast then you'll expect to be treated like scum.
The owner is the rudest most unprofessional person I've ever come across.
We had booked from 4-7pm, the tables were cleared from 17:50, last orders @18:10. Rushed from start to finish. A member of our party was 15 minutes late due to a delayed train, the owner came over after doing a head count and announced everyone is here so we will begin we asked to wait a few minutes for the person who was late to which the owner proceeded to argue with several members of the group about 40 people being there when in fact only 38 were there and waiting on the late member to make it 39 as another person had cancelled.
Honestly shocking, and actually really upset that what should of been a really happy and joyous celebration was tarnished repeatedly throughout the day by such a rude obnoxious person.
After speaking to others who had there own party's there it seems to be a reoccurring theme with the owners from Jam and they don't take any criticism on board at all.
Also seems they have stopped replying to bad reviews and instead create false good ones...
Read moreBooked this place as part of my sisters Hen do on the 24th May. We walked past it in the afternoon and it was packed and had a brilliant atmosphere so thought amazing I’ve done great booking here … can’t wait! Turned up to our evening booking. Literally nobody there on arrival, 1 other hen party turned up soon after. The singer was good but was singing the kind of songs 60-70+ year olds enjoy on their Benidorm holidays not at all what you want for a hen party and the other Hen party were clearly not into it. In between sets the music was ok and everyone got up dancing then back to singing old tunes again! I think he eventually gave up and turned it into a karaoke sesh because we were all actually enjoying that. Food was better than expected but one of our party was served the wrong meal. A week before the booking I got an email saying that the booking had been cancelled despite paying and sending in food orders. I immediately panicked and got in touch managing to easily resolve the situation. Upon seeing the lack of clientele booked in on what was no doubt Liverpool's busiest weekend of the year with big weekend & the parade I am wondering if this was done very much on purpose and if this had happened to the other booking too in an attempt to cancel the night. Very disappointing and really ruined the fun vibe we had going before stepping foot in Jam. Great for Instagram shots but that’s where our good experience ended. Wish I booked...
Read moreIf it was possible to give 0 I would. Food was CHEWY. So chewy that one of us choked on the food. Paid 35 pound deposit they didn't even take it off at the end of the dinner. It was 12pm they had music blaring for this "fashion show" one of a kind pieces. Saw this girl with 100 of the same items in a box. Besides that I didn't come for a rave I came for food. Having to shout to one another to conversate is not the kind of thing you want to do. Trying to celebrate my mum's 50th, looked average per say trying to be a neighbourhood. The roast dinner had 2 potatoes, one broccoli branch, bit of kale and some beef. Bill came to over £160 for 9 people for about 5/6 of us to half eat what was on the plate. Who would pay to go here I don't know. Just AVOID AT ALL COST.
EDIT* Please go to their Facebook page and look at my review..after I responded to them on Facebook after they made this response, they deleted their comment. Due to the fact they knew they did not "give" any free meal or deduct any price. && the proof of how loud the music was.
We sent back 5 plates and only 4 got replaced so they never took any plates off. I didn't order anything else due to the fact I didn't want to choke and die on their...
