This is how you run a great restaurant! Great experience.
GF & I called in Saturday afternoon after a cold ferry trip and ordered a couple of burgers as a late lunch. After a few seconds a friendly young lady approached and offered us any table we wanted. We walked through the place and sat near the bar, the décor is nice, it is modern, stylish, clean, spacious, the tables spaced nicely out of earshot of fellow diners, nice booths along one side.
We were quickly offered drinks ordered the chicken burger and a beef burger & a couple of house beers, the beer wasn't to my taste but always good to try something new. The burgers arrived in good time, presented well. They were a little smaller than most places I've eaten but I often leave feeling like I've over-eaten, I'd say NS has portion sizes spot on. Very tasty burgers, meat was succulent and cooked to perfection, served on brioche which always go soggy with a tomato BUT they do something I always wish other places would do, they place the tomato between the patty and a piece of lettuce, saving the bread from disintegrating, the bread stayed intact as I ate. Also the fries are amazing, I asked for tomato sauce but they're so nice I'd recommend eating them as is. I wish they did sweet potato fries.
The service was a definite 10 out of 10, wish I new the name of the person who served us as I'd like to thank her (young lady with blonde hair), she was exceptional, attentive without being over-attentive, friendly, smiling. Little things but they really leave you with an impression of a place, ad this was a very positive one.
Highly recommend paying this place a visit, the place next door is often packed, and all the tables are really close together , I have some social anxiety so often feel like I have to compromise on going to the best (usually busiest) places, but Nova Scotia was no compromise, it wasn't deserted by any means but the spacing of tables made me feel calm, so I could not only enjoy the food but also the atmosphere and environment.
Oh, and finally, prices are very reasonable too, especially considering the...

The food here is a delight. I had the pleasure of trying a sandwich with crispy, melted cheese, paired with a pint of San Miguel beer—the perfect combination. The creativity behind the menu really shines through, and the quality of both the food and drinks was impressive. What’s even better is the reasonable pricing. For a place so centrally located with such a great atmosphere, the cost is surprisingly affordable. The sandwich was a winner, and the beer was priced just right, especially considering the prime location.
The staff are a true highlight—attentive, friendly, and always ready to make your visit as pleasant as possible. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or settling in for a longer meal, you’ll feel well taken care of. Read moreOur visit to Liverpool, Nova Scotia, turned into an unforgettable dining experience thanks to a charming Sunday meal that left us delighted. From the moment we walked into the warm, inviting atmosphere, we knew we were in for a treat.
We opted for the PS Scotia and the Royal Charter burgers, and let me tell you, they were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a testament to the care and creativity of the kitchen staff.
To accompany our meal, we tried the winter mocktails, specifically the Dragon Brunch and the Passion Fruit Frizz. Both were refreshing and well-balanced, with the kind of vibrant flavors that brightened the cold season. They added a special touch to our meal, proving that non-alcoholic drinks can be just as exciting as their spirited counterparts.
For dessert, we had our hearts set on sticky toffee pudding, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available that day. While it was a small disappointment, it only gave us the perfect excuse to return and try it next time!
This visit was an absolute delight, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. If you’re ever in Liverpool, this spot is a must-visit for amazing food, great drinks, and a cozy, welcoming vibe....
