Great tender chicken but a bit pricey!
This restaurant is located along Lord Street, next to Rococo, around 5-6 minutes walk from Lime Street Station.
Iâve been meaning to try Popeyes since I noticed the store was being built, having known that Popeyes is famous in the US. Since the opening launch of the store it has always been full with customers as I walk past the restaurant and still is (End of January).
I went during Monday lunch and it was super busy but I managed to find a table. There appears to be plenty of seating, however, I think if you are with more than 2 people it can be hard to find seats since the restaurant is constantly busy.
Upon entering the fast-food restaurant there are touchscreen kiosks and further in the restaurant there are staff at the tills who will take orders if you prefer to speak to staff and/or use cash. You can also order from any table using your mobile device as there are QR codes which can be scanned and link to their store.
I ordered using the touchscreen kiosk and it was fast and simple, paid using contactless card payment. You need to take a table number indicator with you to your table, similar to McDonaldâs.
I ordered the 5 chicken tenders as a regular meal which comes with a choice of fries, one dip and drink it costs ÂŁ8.99 but I ordered Cajun fries which costs an additional ÂŁ1, in total I paid ÂŁ9.99. My food arrived in 10 minutes which I was happy with considering the restaurant was basically full.
You can choose the chicken to be normal or spicy, I chose spicy but it is very, very mild. To compare, KFCâs hot wings are spicier. The texture of the chicken itself was exquisite - It was very tender, I was pleasantly surprised - It is definitely better than KFC and McDonaldâs in that regard but I feel that the batter on these tenders were not as crispy as KFC hot wings, it made the chicken seem âhealthierâ since it was less fried and oily. Personally, I prefer the chicken to be crispier but I did enjoy this experience too. The Cajun fries are similar size to McDonaldâs fries but the texture of these fries are crispy, a bit too crispy for my liking but the flavour was nice.
Overall, my first experience of Popeyes chicken (in the UK) was great - the staff are friendly, the food arrived in good time considering it was super busy and the chicken tasted amazing. However, I do feel the price of the food is more on the expensive side so I personally canât give this review 5 stars. I would still recommend Popeyes to others if they want to try more of an upmarket fast-food...
Read moreHad high hopes after enjoying Popeyes in the US for years - what a disappointment! Firstly the food took an eternity to arrive, like 25 mins, and it wasn't even that busy. Soulless staff wandering around aimlessly with trays of food but not engaging with customers or asking what number their order was. Click and serve markers a waste of time. In the end I went up to the counter myself to find the food sat there going cold. I asked about the missing mac n cheese and they said there wasn't any but I could have something else - why not update your screens to stop me from ordering it then? Eventually got a refund after speaking to a manager but this was more difficult than it should have been. The food itself was just OK- the chicken, as other reviewers have stated is pink and looks raw, it wasn't great in comparison to say KFC. The fries were crisp and tasty. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy but question why they can't be incorporated into a meal and have to be purchased separately. The large drink was small by comparison to other fast food outlets. I didn't like having to pay 75p for dip. Some lemon hand wipes or even some napkins would have helped after the food. The toilets were clean and tidy although the unisex nature was confusing some customers, this however isn't the fault of the restaurant. I didn't like the security on the door, it gives the...
Read moreI recently visited Popeyes and had an absolutely amazing experience thanks to Albert, one of the workers there. From the moment I walked in, Albert greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel incredibly welcome. He patiently listened to my order and made sure to get every detail just right.
Not only was Albert incredibly friendly and personable, he was also incredibly efficient and skilled at his job. Despite a busy lunch rush, he made sure that my food was prepared quickly and accurately. And when I had a question about one of the menu items, he was happy to take the time to explain it to me in detail.
Throughout my visit, Albert went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and satisfied with my experience at Popeyes. He truly embodies what it means to provide exceptional customer service, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Popeyes thanks to Albert's outstanding service. If you're looking for a delicious meal served with a smile, be sure to visit Popeyes and ask for Albert - you won't be disappointed! Five stars...
