After seeing this place pop up on my Instagram I was excited to go and as luck had it my friends birthday was round the corner so we planned to start at 113 KTV and then go on to a few other places for drinks. We usually do an all you can eat so we can put away quite a few drinks.
When we got here we were pointed to our table and that was it, no one explained how to do anything or asked if we had experienced Korean BBQ before or if this was our first time etc. We kind of worked it out, grabbed some meat to go on the grill and some sides. The sides on offer were ok but not a crazy amount however I guess the big selling point here is the meat that you cook yourself. Admittedly I thought we would have a designated chef cooking the food for us but that was my mistake.
Our party was a party of 5 on a table with one grill, the size of the grill is not big enough to cook a lot of food so you're able to get about 4 (maybe 5 at a push) slices of pork belly on at one time. for a party of 5 that then didn't end up being alot of food. Ideally you would want 1 grill against 2 maybe 3 people at a push. You also get a time limit of 1 hour 30 mins which really wasn't enough time and in the end we got to a point where we had to try and fill up on sushi and Korean fried chicken balls but even these were not being replenished enough. Again because we weren't shown how to do anything we didn't realise we could control the heat, I had to ask if the heat could be turned up because it was 20 mins and the meat still wasn't cooked, these were thin slices of meat so the cook time shouldn't be that much. The waiter tried to tell me that it was at the perfect temperature but after a bit of back and forth then raised the temperature. I now knew how to do it for myself and was about to adjust the heating as needed but it still wasn't hot enough, I guess this is done to cut down the amount you could cook.
Half way through we were asked if we would like the grill to be changed which was welcomed, we weren't giving any oil to put on the grill so any seasoning from the meat was sticking on the grill and then burning. The waiter came between myself and my friend and pulled the grill off to the point my friend and I had to lean away from it to avoid being burnt, there was oil dripping from the grill, luckily I avoided any hot oil being dropped on me but this was absolutely shocking and a major health and safety hazard.
Food quality was nothing to write home about, the ice cream that was given as a dessert really did taste budget.
Hospitality was poor, constantly found myself trying to make eye contact with a waiter or waitress. Except for when it came time to pay the bill.
I did ask to speak to the manager and addressed some of the issues mentioned above, the manager apologised and took a bit of money off the bill but in my eyes not enough. She also sent the waiter over to apologise which I felt was not needed as it wasn't his fault that he wasn't trained properly, he apologised and said he was new there but really felt like this was something that needed to be addressed internally.
As a final note this place is being toted as an all you can eat however if you are a big eater this is not the place for you. Not a great experience, regretted it being part of a birthday celebration, first time I left an "all you can eat" place and bought...
Read moreA Disappointing Evening: Proceed with Caution Our recent visit to 113 KTV has left a very sour and bitter taste in my mouth, and we can't seem to shift it.
It was a cascade of one letdown after another. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wouldn't be the enjoyable evening we'd hoped for.
Despite arriving 15 minutes before our reserved start time, and even confirming our booking, we were met with a rather unwelcoming "we're not open yet" I mean, doors were wide open when we entered.
Our package included 90 minutes of unlimited food and soft drinks, followed by an hour of karaoke. The buffet food, however, was disappointingly cold. This significantly impacted our enjoyment of the "unlimited" offering.
To accompany our meal, we ordered an additional paid pitcher of gin cocktail, but it tasted more like glorified fruit juice. If there was any gin in it, it must have been a teaspoon. This lack of alcohol in an alcoholic beverage was a significant letdown.
Throughout our dining experience, the communication from the staff was extremely poor, and the waiters seemed to lack any energy or enthusiasm.
Approximately ten minutes before our time was up, we requested some coke, only to be served a half-filled glass. When I expressed my frustration, we were informed that we were served half a glass because our dining experience was ending. This raises the question: Why wouldn't they serve it in a smaller glass, or explain this when the order was placed?
To add insult to injury, we were also told we couldn't take any drinks downstairs to the karaoke room!
Hoping the karaoke would salvage the evening, it did not. The music was out of sync, and there was a complete absence of bass or volume, making for a flat and unengaging experience. It was only as the lights came on, signaling it was time to leave, that the sound quality seemed to miraculously improve. Our overall experience at 113 KTV was profoundly disappointing. From the cold food and watered-down drinks to the disengaged staff and abysmal karaoke, very little met our expectations. My strong recommendation for any future diners is to enter with extreme caution. There are undoubtedly better options out there for an...
Read moreWent with my friends and it was a first time experience for us. The place was clean, not cold or hot either but I can understand how it might be a problem when the weather is really hot but we found the temperature alright as the weather was a bit cold outside.
In terms of service I would say it was good as there was a guy with blonde bleached hair who helped us out a lot through our time there and a lady who explained everything to us which contributed to how we felt about the place. They made sure the food was topped up anytime it was low, informed us when new items were placed out as we went a bit early, made sure we were okay with our food and came to drizzle oil when necessary. The food range was alright, if you viewed the menu beforehand, you would know what the hot food selection is as well as the meat options so you go with the knowledge that those are the items you might see. It is £33 per person with an inclusion of 3 drinks, coke, Fanta and a lemonade. There is a variety of sauces but if you feel what you are looking for is not there it is best to ask and if they do have it, they will give you.
Somethings were not to our taste while others we enjoyed, so I would say overall it was good and there is something for everyone. When your time is almost up someone comes asking what you would like as a dessert and it is either an ice cream or a fruit. For the ice cream they offer three flavours which are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
There is a 12.5% gratuity charge, a no waste policy as you would have to pay for what you do not finish so please do pick what you can eat and if you need more after, you could always...
