Unfortunately as a regular, I have to point out an issue. One of the newer staff James Coop went to beat up his boyfriend in front of security. It was dealt with but he during that day anD NYE acts threateningly towards me since I saw it and didnât joke around with him about it. He threatened to get me banned and gave me death flares even days later which makes it uncomfortable. After seeing someone almost beat up by him, having that very same person stare you down as they struggle to handle their rage while they drink is scary. On NYE someone started an altercation and I kept trying to walk away. While the security didnât see what happened and told us to separate, the security allow her to get me where my back was against the wall. I did not feel supported and every time I went to the restroom she tried to get guys to start a fight which made me feel very physically unsafe. Between both issues, and the fact the former is now highlighted on your socials and his physical assault of someone was swept under the rug, I no longer feel safe in what I considered my safe space. While we need more LGBTQ+ bars that support women and trans rights, ultimately Iâve had the sad realisation that it is just a bar, and when faced with uncomfortable situations, the staff, no matter how nice, wonât pull through.
Why Iâm sending this now is since then, the abusive staff member is now highlighted. Him and his BF are in a toxic relationship that we shouldnât be part of, no, but regardless of there personal issues, the fact that this person did physically assault someone right outside the door and is allowed to continue working there and act anti social and scary to those that didnât tolerate seeing it, means that the bar isnât truly safe. I might as well have gone to a straight bar.
I hope that upon reading this, the bar staff I have come to know and love donât take offense and instead act upon this. I felt the need to say something as it makes me very upset that this is going unnoticed not being dealt with. I was too scared to raise it further for the backlash from the unruly two it would bring and didnât feel supported by the staff around.
Please do better. Itâs not enough to highlight labels, it needs to be generally safe. It is very sad to see a bar where I brought my family, both blood and chosen, to come to as it. Was a space I was promoting, to now not feeling safe to be there. It feels like a community lost and just such a disappointing let down. My heart feels broken that I feel I need to say away from some lovely people, but ultimately I think itâs skin deep if some scary characters like that are not only allowed in, but are put on a pedastool. I realise not all staff may realise this until reading this, but I was advised to say it so itâs out there. After all a better world for the LGBT+ didnât come from not...

Read moreWent there last night was so lovely and the drag queen was unreal and the bar staff were brilliant But we had an issue with one of the Security guards , we were outside of one of the shops having a drink which was not on there premises. I am a bouncer myself and you are allowed to drink on different premises but not one the premises on the club. we spent a lot of money there last night and one of the stated stated â thatâs the most amount someone has spent here on one billâ Was really enjoying the night until the bouncer gave me an attitude of a 15 year old & they were abour 20 years older then myself. stated I had an attitude because I asked âwhy arenât we allowed in could you explain please?â But we previously went back in & the bouncers didnât stop us.:. Then came in after us to start we werenât allowed in. So why let us in if we werenât allowed in because â we were drinking and it wasnât a hangout venueâ once again we were not on your premises we were outside of the shops premises next door which is there premises. Unless one of the group drank outside the premises without us realising then I donât know. There was about 16 of us there and as previously stated we spent a lot of money.
Everything else was amazing the drag , atmosphere , music all sorts but what ruined it was the one Security officer and she also stated âI donât want the hassle of my managerâ which I found was also unprofessional & no polite towards the manager.
Apart from that Iâd like to thank you for a great night until that one Security...
