1910 Parsons Green — Restaurant in London

Went here over the weekend and I have to say I was quite disappointed. After reading so many great views I'm not sure what the hype is all about.

When I arrived in the venue I was greeted by a smiling waitress, however behind her was another waitress who exhaled loudly and had a very exhausted look on her face. We all have bad days but for that to be my first impression when entering wasn't great.

I sat down, but unfortunately it took around 10min for my friend and I to be offered any water. This place isn't massive and they had plenty of staff so I'm not sure what was going on there. Unfortunately the service really let down my experience.

We ordered 2 tacos, 2 quesadillas, chips and salsa.

We received the 2 quessedias which was tasty but not anything special. And then when the waitress came to clear our plates, she asked us have we ordered anything else? Why ask the customer that? That should be something you communicate with your team or look it up on the system it made me think they forget our order which they actually did.

When our tacos came they forget the chips and salsa which we wanted to have at the beginning of the meal with our drinks. They brought them over and apologized but honestly I was not very happy that they came at the end of the meal and we had to remind them about it even though there were only 2 other tables at the time.

It's a shame because this place looks lovely and all the food was cooked well. I have to add, we came later in the evening and it was quiet so, it's not like it was an issue with them being slammed or overbooked.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the experience was ruined by terrible service. I came here with a friend for a catch-up and to support a local restaurant. The food arrived quickly, and at first, things seemed fine. However, at 9:45 pm, we were told it was last orders for drinks, which felt odd for a Thursday given their advertised closing time of 11 pm. We went ahead and ordered one last drink as suggested.

But then, at 10 pm, the vibe completely shifted. Out of nowhere, the lights were turned on, the music was stopped, and the waitress came over and bluntly handed us the bill with a curt “Here’s your bill,” even though we hadn’t asked for it. No warning, no explanation - just a clear message that it was time to leave. We were left with unfinished drinks and a pretty sour taste in our mouths.

For a £75-per-person evening that included 2.5 drinks each (the last one we weren’t able to finish given we were chased out), a plate of tacos, and some dips, it just felt rude and unnecessary. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant before, and it’s such a shame because I wanted to enjoy it.
