My son and I had a lovely dining experience at Cocotte Parsons Green, and I can see why this place is so popular ; even on a Monday evening, it was buzzing! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the service throughout was excellent. A special mention to Laura, who looked after us so well, was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She made some fantastic recommendations and really added to our experience.
We started with a few small plates, and every bite was a treat. The Chicken & Truffle Croquettes were absolutely amazing, crisp on the outside, rich and creamy on the inside, with that irresistible earthy truffle aroma. The Vegan Popcorn Ch*cken was a surprising hit, light, crispy, and full of flavour. My son especially loved the Chicken Tenders, perfectly cooked, golden, and juicy. A great choice for both kids and adults alike.
For mains, we shared the Half Rotisserie Chicken, which is marinated for 24 hours in their secret blend of herbs and spices, then finished on a traditional rotisserie. You could really taste the depth of flavour in every bite; it was juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. We also had the Crispy Chicken Burger, featuring panko and parmesan-breaded chicken thigh, Monterey Jack cheese, pickled red cabbage, gherkins, and Alabama sauce all tucked into a soft brioche bun. This burger was outstanding, the perfect balance of crunch, tanginess, and richness.
We ordered two sides. the Mash was soft, buttery, and creamy, while the Truffle Fries were crisp and aromatic. Both complemented our mains perfectly and were generous in portion.
As for drinks, I appreciated the selection of mocktails, and the one that stood out was the Pomme Douche â refreshing, fruity, and just the right level of sweetness. It was a lovely alternative to a cocktail and paired well with the meal.
When it came time for dessert, I was really looking forward to trying the Mont Blanc (chestnut cream, vanilla ice cream, almonds, and chantilly cream), but unfortunately, it wasnât available that evening. However, Laura came to the rescue again with a great alternative, some scoops of ice cream, and she highly recommended the Pistachio flavour. Iâm glad we listened to her, it was rich, nutty, and the perfect way to end our meal.
Another big plus for me is that Cocotte offers Halal chicken, which made the experience even more enjoyable and stress-free for both me and my son. Itâs great to find a place that offers quality, flavour, and inclusivity all in one.
Overall, Cocotte Parsons Green truly impressed us with its quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and fantastic service. I would absolutely go back, just make sure to book a table, because even early in the week, this place fills up quickly. And honestly, once youâve eaten here, youâll understand...
Read moreWe were told we needed to order a drink with our dinner and the happy hour and a bottle of wine wouldnât meet the criteria for an âeligible drinkâ. We decided to order some drinks on happy hour anyway since it was before seven and then ordered some other drinks afterwards so they would count towards the ârequirementâ for first table.
Unfortunately, when we got the bill, we were told that happy hour actually doesnât count which wasnât clear to us at all. It is quite ridiculous as we with that before 7 pm and we ordered other drinks which counted towards all of the requirements for first table.
We ended up barely saving any money and if we had known this in the first place, we frankly wouldnât have even come to the restaurant. We only came for the offer which was not worth our time at all.
Itâs very unfair and misleading to not offer happy hour to customers eating before 7 pm. We wouldnât have even ordered for cocktails if we were told that we werenât allowed to get happy hour. Iâm very disappointed we have previously had good experiences at the restaurant but this was terrible and has truly put us off. If there are such long requirements for First Table then itâs not even worth being on the website, since it saves you literally nothing.
I hope youâll take this feedback and adjust your conditions to make it a better experience for your...
Read moreThe food is awful. The whole grilled chicken is tasteless, marinated only on the surface, in general the food is bland, prepared robotically, souless....and the chips...THE CHIPS...oh the horror!!!! They were burned, cut poorly, covered in extra rosemary salt to cover the burnt flavour, newsflash: it didn't work. how can you screw up chips??? The staff were more interested in socializing at the bar than ensuring service was efficient. Also, what king of "french" rottiserie doesn't have sparking water?? and when our food came the waitress put half her fingers into the plate, seriously. It is easy to see that then staff in general belongs to a certain etnic group so it's clear is a franchise ran by some guy who has hired members of the family to work regardless of their skills. The staff was not rude, but if you are looking for a good French-style rottiserie, this ain't it. It was as French as Tandoori...
