Raj of India — Restaurant in London

The food was tasty, the portions were generous and good value for money.

Reasons why it gets only 3 stars, was the odd behavior from the staff.

Don't get me wrong, one was very lively and welcoming the other however clearly had had enough; disinterested and cheerless.

What was most strange was that after we'd had finished our main and had declined the offer of dessert, the waiter comes back and drops the bill on our table. OK fare enough, but then moments later comes over again with card machine and asks "how would we like to pay". Had to tell him can you give us 5-10 minutes. The restaurant experience is not over just because we've eaten. It had been no more than 15 minutes after the mains were taken away.

It was bizarre, just myself and my mum, we weren't being loud rude or offensive, the place was not busy, and it was only 8:15PM, you can clearly see we're deep in conversation, why are you rushing us?

Perhaps because we had declined dessert they assumed we'd want to vacate sooner rather than later, so best to anticipate our next request before hand. Or perhaps they knew they weren't getting any more money out of us so best shift us along.

Not sure if they reckon they're being efficient, but it just comes off as rude, and we felt unwelcome, our conversation went a bit sour after that and we felt like they wanted us to move along.

I won't be eating here again.

P.S they add service charge to your bill... which is fine, but there is no note/message on the menus that say they'll ...

I dined at the restaurant last week with my husband. My husband enjoyed his meal, but we both agreed my main was very disappointing and the majority of it was left uneaten. However, of far greater concern was the attitude of the staff to me. They showed respect and professionalism to my husband - and I was ignored - over and over. To make a point, I paid (hoping this would rebalance the curtesy towards me), but this wan't the case. I thought I spotted an error with the bill, but I was rushed to pay; the manager simply said "card!" to me (meaning he needed my credit card). I asked to keep the invoice and check it slow-time, but this was totally refused and so I took a quick photo with my phone before the invoice was taken away. There had indeed been a mistake in the total; albeit small (and I believe it was probably not deliberate). However, how the manager dealt with this was appalling. Initially he denied it and then simply said it. was 'human error'. At no point did he offer any apology. Instead he simply turned his back on me and said to a junior member of staff to "give her the overpayment in cash". I confronted the manager. I actually wasn't concerned about the small overcharging; but his attitude to me throughout our time and lack of apology for his error were hugely inappropriate. We...

This restaurant name should be "Shame of Bangladesh". They're running the business by the name of India but they have nothing to do with India. Neither do they make food as fresh and tasty as real Indian foods are nor their staffs are behaving as civilised and cultured as Indians are!

From the moment I entered, it was clear things weren't going to go well. The atmosphere was dull and uninviting, with no sign of any other customers or staff members in sight. When I finally got a chance to order my food, I quickly realized why - the quality of the food left much to be desired. The dishes were poorly prepared and tasteless; they lacked flavor, texture, and freshness altogether. Furthermore, they seemed as if they had been sitting out for hours on end before being served to me. What made matters worse is that when I asked one of the servers about this issue, he just shrugged his shoulders indifferently and walked away without providing any sort of explanation or apology for such subpar service.

All in all, this restaurant did not make for a great dining experience and I would definitely not recommend it! Top of everything, the staffs are very rude and misbehave...
