Wow - what a magnificent time I've just had at Amigos Shepherds Bush! A mountain of a meal, combined with great company, and great hosting by the awesome guys there.
A close friend of mine had been telling me for some time about some mythical challenge that's impossible to conquer. It's literally floated around in West London via word of mouth, due to this monstrous offer not being listed on the menu at all. The challenge involves devouring a true tower of a burger - 50oz of premium succulent beef patties to be exact - filled with complete salad (onions, tomatoes and lettuce), thick slices of halloumi cheese, and sauces to one's liking. Accompanying the burger is the naturally obligatory fries and soft drink combo. Successfully consuming this mammoth feat within 30mins means you get the meal for free! Failure results in two thumbs down, and a strong stench of shame that's rumoured to linger for aeons.
We both rolled up our sleeves, and took the titanic task head-on...
Amigo's member Naila graciously took our order, detailing the rules of the challenge, of which we confirmed. After a short while, our food arrived - and what a mighty sight it was! 5 10oz slabs of cow muscle piled atop each other, stuffed to the gills with all the gubbins. The meat itself was juicy and highly flavourful. A special shoutout goes to the halloumi cheese, so tangy yet not overpowering from the overall protein overdose.
Yes, we both failed the challenge miserably.
I barely finished the second patty before eventually tapping out and submitting to the massive masterpiece of this mighty fine burger. My mate barely fared any better haha!
Despite our waving the white flag, the experience of it all was amazing - Naila and her guys done a great job in accommodating us, and ensured a great time was had by us all, that includes everyone inside watching in awe, and those outside walking past wondering just what was going on, funny time indeed.
Thank you Amigos - if anyone does beat the challenge, I gotta meet 'em n shake their hand, for they'll become true Legend of London... Well, at least of Shepherds Bush Green,...
Read moreRACIST MANAGEMENT AND STAFF! AVOID THIS ENTIRE FRANCHISE! After watching a film across the street at West 12, my 3 friends and I wanted to get some food so came here probably about 30 mins before they were due to close. When we began ordering our food to eat-in, the girl taking our order just looks at us up and down then turns to a man in the back of the kitchen to ask if they’re still doing eat-in orders. I’m guessing he was the manager or at least someone in an authoritative position, he glances at us then rudely says “NO! Just take away!” We were confused because the several different customers who had ordered just moments before us were not told this at all. We accepted that maybe they had said this to us because they were closing in 30 mins, HOWEVER as we were waiting for our food and milkshakes, many other customers came in AFTER us and were able to eat-in. NEITHER the girl taking the orders nor the ‘manager’ at the back told anyone else that they could only do a take-away order. It was clear to us that this was a RACIAL ISSUE, and that the girl who took our order and the ‘manager’ singled us as we were the only non-Arab/non-Muslim customers there. I have eaten at Amigos before at a different location and have noticed their biased preference in favour of customers who are Arab and/or Muslim, and simply disregarding customers who do not fit this description. I definitely will not be wasting my money eating at another Amigos again as it’s clear they openly support RACISM within their management and staff. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL! AVOID...
Read moreI have always loved Amigos but I went to the White City branch yesterday and wow! The staff especially the manager were so hostile . There was one staff member who was outside cleaning table and he was actually very nice , he said he was vegetarian but gave me an insight in to what the best sellers are .. when asked if he could serve me on the till .. he told me to go the counter .. upon reaching the counter is where it just went so downhill .. the lady ( manager ) wa sitting on her phone and couldn’t give a care in the world that I was at the counter .. after she sighed and grunted she finally got the urge to stand up and then asked “ what do you want “ .. anyways ordered my food sat down and there was 5 of us .. our total bill came to about £75 roughly .. food was okay .. got a little bit messy so I asked for some tissues an the worker only gave me one or two so I asked for more and the manager came running and said sarcastically give him the whole box .. I mean seriously if you don’t want to be there then don’t but please don’t ruin others experience of this brand .. then we asked for some ice in a cup .. guess what .. the manager smirked and said “ your not getting any” .. if the manager is reading this .. I hope you get the same treatment else where with your family so you realise how disprespectful and distasteful you made us feel ! absolutely disgusting ! Will not be retuning to...
