Restaurant Review: A Taste of Turkey in Earls Court
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a new Turkish restaurant in Earls Court, and I must say, it was an experience that brought back fond memories of my love affair with Turkish cuisine, all thanks to my old friend, Emel Sayın. The restaurant truly delivers on its promise of authentic Turkish flavors, offering a delightful array of dishes that transport you straight to the streets of Istanbul.
Ambiance and Service:
From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both elegant and cozy. The decor is a tasteful blend of modern design with traditional Turkish elements, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The service here is exceptional; the staff are not only attentive but genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They take the time to explain the dishes, make recommendations, and ensure that every guest feels welcomed and well-cared for.
The Food:
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the food! The menu offers a wide range of traditional Turkish dishes, each prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. I started with the mezze platter, which was a fantastic introduction to the flavors of the region. The hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned, the baba ghanoush had a wonderful smokiness, and the dolmas were tender and flavorful.
For the main course, I opted for the lamb shish kebab, which was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy, with a beautiful char that added a depth of flavor. It was served with a generous portion of rice and grilled vegetables, making for a hearty and satisfying meal. The accompanying sauces were fresh and vibrant, complementing the dish wonderfully.
Final Thoughts:
This new Turkish gem in Earls Court is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Turkish cuisine. The combination of outstanding service and delicious food makes it a standout addition to the local dining scene. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Turkish food like myself or new to its delights, this restaurant is sure to impress. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreWe went to Ana Turkish Restaurant as we wanted to try a new place in Kensington and that was a great choice. The restaurant is clean, spacious and has a nice atmosphere created by the Turkish music, decorations and welcoming, helpful staff. We ordered mix of hot mezze which we enjoyed a lot, it was an opportunity to go through most of the starters (chefs fulfilled our request and replaced the sausage with hummus) and then vegeterian moussaka and Ana special for 2-3 people, which turns out to be a perfect choice when you want to share. In addition we had chilli and garlic sauce and the extra bread came to us very quickly. The food was delicious and the portions were quite big, so we took the rest as a take away. They have a selection of 6-7 wines, both red and white, really enjoyed their house wine and Efez - the Turkish beer. 6 desserts to choose (wild strawberry cheesecake and tennessee toffee pie - awsome!) which makes it also a delightful place for sweet tooths, who'd come for Turkish coffee or Turkish tea and a sweet snack. There is also a big room down stairs just perfect for the occasions like birthdays, weddings and other parties. We really recommend this place to the Middle East Cuisine lovers and those who haven't yet tried Turkish food. We will definitely come back and try...
Read moreThe best restaurant we have been to in absolute ages. The restaurant decor was very well designed without being over the top. We were greeted some warmly and taken to our table straightaway. I love the menu as it was uncomplicated, simply and had the best Turkish dishes to offer. We ordered the feta salad to start which was refreshing and for mains we ordered lamb chops and king prawns. My husband kept saying the lamb was so tender and tasty and he is very particular about his meat! The king prawns I had ordered were proper big king prawns that filled half of the big plate it was served it. They were so succulent and well seasoned and fresh. I was highly impressed. I really appreciated that the rice was a good portion size and so was the salad but they didn’t overwhelm the plate as I see this at many places I go to. It was wonderful to see that the meat was the star of the show and not grains.
For dessert we ordered baklava which was freshly made that day and mint tea. Both were delicious.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Please go, you will not be disappointed.
A massive thank you to Mohsen for making our romantic evening special. We will be coming back as regulars and we are already planning our next meal here.
