Angus Steakhouse — Restaurant in London

I didn’t really enjoy my experience here. I ordered my steak “well done” as that is how I prefer my meat. However, my meat was very dry, hard and very tough to cut even with a kitchen knife. It felt as though when I asked my meat well done they disrespected my wishes as it’s not the most ideal way of cooking meat and it looked like they didn’t care much.

You might think, what was I excepting anyways from a well done cooked meat. However, I go to other restaurants and I ask my meat to be cooked “well done” and it still is soft and juicy enough.

I also have to point out the service as they took a hefty £10 service charge from my bill. I wish I was given a choice to how much I would want to pay the service charges. I did ask the waiter if the service charges could have been reduced but they said “no”. The service given didn’t impress me. In fact the waiter asked me if I would like some water, I said yes and the water never came. Sorry I have to be petty as I was not given a choice to reduce my service charges and so I was expecting perfection for that charge.

The little respect or chance I wanted to give Angus Steak house left my mind even more when they were not willing to reduce my service charges. I had certain expectations in my mind as to what the bill would be adding a few £2-3 extra as I know every restaurant does have service charges but I didn’t expect a whole £10 extra where I am not given a choice to reduce the charges either.

Overall, I think there are better restaurants than Angus Stake house. I won’t visit this restaurant again. They disappointed my first...

Honestly the worst steak house ever. Wish I could give it a zero if I could. They messed up my entire tables order (6 of us!!) … when we asked for it to be sorted politely it was taken away re-heated in a microwave! (Which we all know re-heating rare meats is dangerous! We weren’t even given a new steak!!) And when given back to us YET AGAIN WITH CONFUSION (it was very shocking considering half of the table were eating halal and the other half non-halal.. they should have been very careful about this). I asked for rare to medium several times and got medium to well done, (and then the waiter was so done with all of us explaining its incorrect.. either he was completely out of it or either just not with the game!) my drink was also wrong! And the cherry on top I got given peppercorn sauce (which not even one person on my table mentioned!). And don’t get me started on the flavour.. it was non-existent. Had to drain their salt and pepper beside me!. My knife could not even cut through.. needed a chainsaw at this point. And as for dessert don’t worry it’s basically shop brought frozen desserts.. not worth the money.

It didn’t end there .. 4 hours after I had a serious belly ache.. it just wasn’t digesting.. I ended up vomiting it all out. I was horrified. In the middle of central London I was experiencing the worst what felt like food positioning. Honestly scarred from ever trying steak again. Ruined my entire evening of celebrations.

Food was great just like other branches (near selfridges). On Wednesday 11/20/2019 I ate the meal there with our friends. We sat at the table near the door and the door was open all the time. It was super cold and I request the staff (woman who took care of our table) , she refused to close the door for us. So we decided to ask her whether can we move to another table that still empty and she refused by saying that she will make the heater more hotter. It was hotter but not enough to make us warm as the wind was extremely strong. Moreover, she did not write all the orders we asked as well but luckily we already full. At the end, when we asked for the billed, we saw that the service is not included. We always give service to any restaurants that provide great service but the staff (woman) force us to pay the service 10 % which we believe that she does not deserve it. We were feeling cold all the time and we do not want to make any trouble and that is why we did not speak up. But we feel really shocked and uncomfortable that the staff forced us to pay 10 % but we did not say anything because we won't come to this branch anymore. This staff (woman) never deserve it and thanks for showing how greedy you are to get the money. Take it this time because we will never come...
