As a Liverpool fan, I was working in London and gutted to miss out on tickets to Liverpool v Chelsea because of it. The next best thing was to watch it in a pub with a decent and friendly atmosphere. I did some research and found the Spread Eagle. Most reviews were fairly glowing, so I chose to ignore the odd rogue review (someone complaining for being overcharged for their milk or something) and I made my way there. I got there an hour early, as I planned to eat, but there were no free tables on either floor. So I had beer and some nuts. The milk complainer had an issue with the drinks prices. They are higher than up north, but very much in keeping with Central London prices. The beer I had was good and was served by smiling and chatty staff, who were always polite and helpful, despite it being really busy. As it happened, Liverpool won comfortably and it was an amazing atmosphere. But having said that, I think the atmosphere would have been great anyway, because this is a top pub to visit. I went on my own, due to work, but I didn't feel alone (YNWA?) and I had a thoroughly fulfilling evening. I will definitely return when next working in London.

Great food, great atmosphere but questionable service. Stopped here for late lunch after touring London as it was centrally located (close to Oxford Street) and relatively quiet despite the rush hours. The food was actually great! I had the large fish & chips and I couldn't fault anything - it was very well prepared, the fish seemed fresh and the side dishes were quite big portions. Tap beer was at the perfect temperature. However I have mixed feelings about the service - firstly I needed to order my food from the cashier, the waiter didn't come to collect orders from sitting customers, I also had to pay upfront even though I was sitting at the dining table. The staff was very nice when engaged with, however not proactive at all. If no one was at the bar, they all gathered together and started to chat or be on their phones. The interior was what you'd expect from a British pub - very cozy enjoyable and perfect to watch sports events. Payment with card. Visited in July 2022. Food ***** Atmosphere ***** Service ***

Nice pub conveniently located in central London. It has a small outside area with heating, and a few tables to enjoy yourself when the weather is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, and overall service was pretty quick. The layout inside is good, leaving a reasonable amount for standing around if it is packed, but equally, there is a good amount of tables available for sitting down and having a pint and a chat as you are passing through the area. Would not have any reservations about returning next time I’m in area.

Nice homely little pub though staff used to be a little distant/wooden, which could be changed, - then again they are leaving you be! Good grub properly cooked. Needs more colour, which they did! Lots of lights this time, mind you it's Xmas now! HINT TO OWNER!, HI THERE!, They should leave them there all year around. Very attractive I thought anyways.... Methought. Very colourful. Just what the old place needed years ago. I used to attend the Filipino Anglo-Oriental Social Club here on Saturday nights monthly then!, packed out to the rafters it was, lovely. Good value for money re last reviews 2 yrs ago.! or more... I am rereviewing ( Mon. 13.12.21 on ) this great colourful little Public House on the side street by Bond Street Tube Station!, as they now have a fairly new but totally different American style written by the look of that menu entirely as from when I first tried their restaurant out upstairs! Now downstairs too as well. Good wines too by the looks of it. Review on that to follow. Fish and chips was 15.50 last time, let's see what happens now this time then... Watch this space. Hang on,... we shall see... . Hehehe. Lovin' it. I'll be back, he said !@??? Photos...
