An absolute disgrace!

This coffee shop has hit rock bottom, and I will never set foot in it again. I’ve been a regular customer when visiting my client nearby, choosing this place over Pret next door simply for convenience. But after today, I’ll gladly wait in Pret’s line rather than endure the shocking treatment I received here.

I ordered a Mocha and was served something cold, tasteless, and resembling a Flat White. When I politely questioned the staff, the barista—who was not the usual person—acted clueless, forcing me to repeat myself multiple times. It was embarrassing, unprofessional, and downright infuriating. When they finally handed me a replacement, it was just as bad as the first one.

What truly enraged me was the barista’s attitude: grumpy, dismissive, and outright rude, as if I was asking for charity. Let me be clear—I paid for my drink in full, just like everyone else, and I expect to be treated with the same respect.

Stop profiling your customers and treating people based on assumptions. Every paying customer deserves fair treatment, without judgment.

Congratulations—you’ve officially lost a customer for good. From now on, I’ll take my business to @Pret and encourage my colleagues to do the same. With such atrocious service and an appalling attitude, I sincerely hope this place reflects on how it treats people before...

I have a coffee here once a week whenever I am in need of physiotherapy. (The coffee doesn’t cure bad backs but the physio on the same street does; and good coffee is important for good morale.) The coffee is excellent, as is the hot chocolate. I live that this is an independent business and would rather walk barefoot on charcoal than give my custom to the chain next door. However, the ladies serving it could be a bit more welcoming to customers. Every time I go, I am reminded of Harry Enfield and his coffee shop sketch. At best, I can hope to get a bored look and a mechanical greeting, on the rare occasion a smile makes an appearance, it doesn’t reach the eyes. I’ve never written a poor review for a coffee shop, but I was surprised at the lack of respect from the staff. Yesterday morning at 9:30am I stopped in for a coffee and the place was empty. Not only was the girl quite rude while I was ordering, she proceeded to mock me to her coworkers while they were making my coffee, as if I wasn’t standing right in front of her. I worked in a coffee shop when I was young too, so I can say that her complaint wasn’t even valid (no, an iced coffee with a splash of milk is not “just an iced latte”) and even if you believe the customer’s order is silly, you treat them with respect and professionalism.
