Really disappointing experience, I will not be returning. I booked an area for 10 guests for my birthday in February, when I arrived there were other people sitting in my area and the staff didn’t really seem to care. I had pre paid for 3 bottles of Prosecco but the staff were not aware of this either until I asked where it was, they had to check the booking sheet first. I then had to bring my own bottles of Prosecco to my table. I guess I was expecting a staff member to bring it to my table or at the very least the bottles to be ready at the table otherwise I wouldn’t have pre paid for it in advance, I might as well of just waited until I got there before ordering anything at all. I also paid a £40 deposit to secure the table, unfortunately I didn’t redeem this on the night and was hoping they would refund this back to me. When I emailed to kindly ask for a refund, they said they would email the venue and get back to me. After over 2 weeks of no reply I emailed again and was told that the venue had said I’d used my deposit on drinks that evening. I disputed this and said I’ve got all my card transactions which proved I paid for all my drinks that evening and asked for proof on what drinks my deposit was redeemed on. The venue has still not gotten back to me as I’m writing this review. I work in hospitality myself so I understand the struggles and hate to complain or leave a negative review but I feel like I have no other option at this point. I will never return to this bar or any of their other branches and I will be warning all my friends...
Read moreBe At One on Wimpole Street was once a venue where we felt safe and welcome; a place we looked forward to visiting. Unfortunately, that changed this evening.
After spending our time and hard-earned money enjoying what should have been a celebratory night, the lights came on and we were singled out as the group to be ushered out with the assistance of security despite several other guests still present in the venue. At first, one might assume this was standard closing procedure. However, what followed made it clear that we were being treated differently.
To my shock, I was followed into the toilets by a bouncer. Meanwhile, other guests who remained inside after us were allowed to leave calmly and without interference or pressure. The contrast in treatment was blatant.
At no point were we disruptive or a problem to the establishment. Yet the way we were handled was unwarranted, heavy-handed, and deeply disappointing. I cannot help but feel that discrimination played a role in how we were treated. It’s disheartening to know that, in 2025, this kind of behaviour still exists in public spaces.
What was once a place of joy for us has now become a symbol of exclusion. I will not be returning to Be At One...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with the treatment of me and my friends. We were a group of 10 20-22 year olds, going out for a 21st birthday party at 8pm on a Friday. We got ID'd twice, once by the bouncer (completely fair enough) but almost immediately after we'd sat down by a very rude bar tender with lots of tattoos - who scratched our IDs and studied them like they were fake. When we asked for the 2-4-1 drinks on the app we got told it was over and then told off for not saying it was on the app sooner. I also asked for a strawberry bellini but they told us they had no strawberries so I asked for a mango bellini. The bartenders rolled their eyes at each other and reluctantly said yes. Some of my other friends asked for a aperol spritz and were told they didn't have any prosecco left which left me confused as my mango bellini was supposed to have prosecco in. As I saw them make my drink I saw they put soda water from a can into it and when I asked if it had prosecco in it they lied and said yes. My drink tasted like watered down mango. Terrible service would give 0 stars if I could. Why was my money no more important than anyone else's? Will NOT be coming back or...
