My friend and I dined at Banana Tree in Greenwich twice during our stay, and both visits were a delight. The restaurant is located just across the street from the Innkeeper’s Collection, making it incredibly convenient - and the food was absolutely worth it! The menu offers a great selection of vibrant Pan-Asian dishes, packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and well-seasoned. Whether you’re in the mood for something spicy or comforting, there’s something for every palate. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Even when the place was busy, we felt well taken care of. The setting is casual yet stylish, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. It’s perfect for anything from a quick lunch to a more relaxed evening meal. If you’re in the Greenwich area and want tasty food in a friendly and laid-back environment, Banana Tree is definitely worth a visit!

Wow, giving this place 1 star for food was very generous. Generally some of the most horrible food I’ve tasted. We came for a connection group and to connect. The food was so terrible it made me sad. My friend ordered the chilli beef and it literally looked like parchment paper. The wings were undercooked and the rice was salty. The prawns were from the packet they sell in Iceland. The calamari was honestly inedible, It was definitely reheated. As bad as the food was, the service was immaculate our server RAMON WAS 10/10, he really deserved tips, raises and all the above. Can’t fault him and he had incredible table side service. They had to remove items off the bill and comp us drinks, so the management and staff were really apologetic and I appreciate that. Sadly, I wouldn’t return for the food and drinks.

This place could be 100 times better if better managed. Food is ok a bit pricey but all right. And the fact it s halal is also a good point. But the service ... need to be rethought completely. I went there 4 or 5 times, and in 80% of cases I add an issue, whether you habe to wait 10min at the door while staff walk next to you without acknowledging you. Or you order drinks and have to chase them systematically because you wait like 10minutes and nothing comes. My last visit which prompt me to write this review now was 20min ago, we waited at the door for 10min again and staff sees you but no one comes so we decided to leave simply. So if you have time to kill and patience you can try it. Staff need to be trained properly as those problems are recurrent. Portion size are also quite small for the price.

UPDATE FROM AUGUST 2025: I'd like to start by saying that in the two years we've been going to Banana Tree Greenwich, they have only ever been about good food, friendly service and a fun take on how to spend part of an evening. So too, a recent random weekday evening this August. Banana Tree had managed to lure us back into the restaurant via the 2,000 free Katsu burgers they were giving away. My husband signed up for – and got – his free burger. By the time I signed up, they were out of the free 2,000 and were offering me one at half-price! Still, a pretty good offer, so we went. As always, the service was great and the food was good. What really spoilt it though was the person who came up at the end with the card machine for us to pay. They gave us a QR code and a card with their name (it starts with 'A') and asked us to review their service! We hadn't seen this person up to that point. They hadn't served us, nor even brought us the bill. They were simply detailed to take payment. What sort of review could we possibly give them (and by extension Banana Tree)? This left a slightly sour taste in the mouth – after all, Banana Tree has always seemed to be a very engaged team that looks out for the collective good. This person, whose name starts with 'A', could've asked us to review the chap who seated us and took our order; or the wonderful person who delivered it (and brought a little pot of the chilli mayo to the table because I liked it so much). The person whose name starts with 'A' could've asked us to rate the whole Banana Tree team. They didn't and consequently let themselves down...and this Banana Tree branch too, just a tad.

2023 Really loved dinner at Banana Tree Greenwich. Great food, great service from Ajith and free birthday cocktails. What’s...

Poor experience here. Service was ok but had to ask for some of the things like cutlery and condiments so perhaps a little more attention to those small details are needed.

They didn’t have some of the ingredients that made up the dish I ordered so substituted it with something else. The food came out after a couple mins of ordering which I assume meant it wasn’t cooked fresh and you could see it all looked quite dry and not well presented at all (and measly for the cost!) I had to remind the server about the replacement ingredient as it was missing. Another server then came and said they didn’t have the drinks we ordered so asked what else we would like and then proceeded to ask “and if that’s not available, what else would you like”. If something isn’t available, perhaps better to tell the customer rather than have them go through the entire menu asking them what they’d have instead. The final straw for us was when we noticed an entire egg shell in the dish my partner was eating so I just told the manager politely about all of these issues and that I was leaving.

Considering it’s quite new, I would have thought they’d be trying to impress but all in all very poor. Servers could be more switched on, chefs need to be sacked (raw egg shells are probably quite dangerous) and I won’t be coming back which is a shame as I live across the road and was excited to check...

We visited Banana Tree and were very fortunate to be served by Ajay. From the moment we were seated, he set the tone for the evening with a warm welcome and genuine attentiveness.

Ajay managed to strike the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. He took the time to explain the menu clearly, offered thoughtful recommendations, and was particularly attentive to the children, making them feel included and comfortable throughout the meal. This small detail made a big difference to the overall experience.

Service was consistently excellent: our food and drinks arrived promptly, special requests were handled smoothly, and Ajay checked in at just the right moments without being intrusive. He anticipated what we might need before we even had to ask, which speaks volumes about his attentiveness and experience.

Dining out as a family can sometimes feel hectic, but Ajay ensured it was a relaxed, enjoyable occasion. His personable approach, efficiency, and care elevated the whole evening beyond just a good meal - it felt like a genuinely thoughtful dining experience.

We left not only impressed with the food but especially grateful for the high standard of service Ajay provided. He is a credit to Banana Tree, and we would be very happy to return knowing we would be looked...
