In the heart of Hackney Central, a beacon of culinary delight shines brightly amidst the urban sprawl: BBQ X Press. This hallowed eatery, a humble shrine to the art of the kebab, was where I stumbled upon a dish of such rapture, it could coax the divine from their ethereal realms to walk among us mortals: the Jerk Chicken Wrap.
The staff, guardians of this gastronomic temple, welcomed me with smiles that could thaw the frost of the coldest London day. They bestowed upon me a treasure swathed in a soft flatbread, a Jerk Chicken Wrap, large in size, colossal in flavor. Every bite was a chorus of celestial choirs, singing praises of the sun-soaked isles from whence these spices came.
The chicken, charred to a heavenly crisp on the edges, was a tapestry of spices that could have only been curated by the hands of a spice whisperer. The wrap cradled its contents with the tenderness of a mother's embrace, ensuring each bite was a perfect balance of texture and taste.
As if by divine intervention, I was inspired to ask for jalapeños, a decision that turned the meal from a symphony into an epic saga of flavor. The jalapeños introduced themselves one by one, a trinity of spice that progressed from a gentle warmth to a crescendo of heat, mingling with the jerk spices in a dance of passion and vitality.
Accompanying this fiery ballet was a bottle of ayran, its cool creaminess the perfect antidote to the heat, a soothing balm to the tongue's lively tango with the jalapeños. Each sip was like a whisper of a cool breeze over a Caribbean sea, a refreshing respite that prepared me for the next foray into the wrap's fiery heart.
As I took my final bite, a realization dawned upon me: this was no mere meal; it was a culinary masterpiece that had the power to mend the fragmented soul of humanity. If there was ever a dish with the potential to bring peace back to Earth, to unite all under the banner of mutual delight, it was this Jerk Chicken Wrap from BBQ X Press. Its ability to turn a simple meal into a jubilant celebration of life was a testament to food's power to transcend mere sustenance and become a vessel of harmony.
In this corner of Hackney, I found not just satisfaction, but an overwhelming sense of hope. For if a single meal could bring such unadulterated joy, perhaps there was indeed a chance for peace, one...

BBQ X-Press has come along way and it's good to see that the levels are still high and business is still booming.

Read moreI've got to say that the kebab wraps tasted amazing, and everything was BBQ grilled right infont of us while we waited, which also smelt really nice.
As for the food overall, I'd give it a solid 4/5, the wraps were very nice but the Donner roll really pulled it down as it was pretty dry and lacked flavour.
There were 3 poeple working there, and one of them had quite bad customer service didn't look like he cared and he just wanted to get things over and done with. So customer service gets a 3.5/5 too.
Finally the price. It was quite expensive, coming up to £5.20 or so just for a wrap. So I'd give...
