Cool venue but the hostile security staff on the entrance ruined our experience on two separate occasions!

We work locally on the boats on the River Thames and myself and two of my team (aged 25-35) visited for an after work drink a couple of weeks ago. We were sober and friendly however refused entry, because it was ā€œafter the last entry timeā€ even though this was over an hour before the closing time, and we had just seen others enter before us. We were confused but didn’t argue and left.

The exact same thing happened last night. The 3 of us arrived at 8:30pm when the website gives a closing time of 11pm. Two people walked in directly before us and then we were stopped and told ā€œNO. You missed last entryā€. This time I questioned the staff member as to what time last entry is and he responded ā€œwhen I say it isā€. He said it was a coincidence this happened to us twice which I do not believe! Eventually after much back and forth he said fine go in. When inside there were lots of people and atmosphere was nice. We raised the incident with the other security members inside who gave excuses. The venue then closed early, so it seemed all the hassle was only for 30 minutes spent inside.

This is UNACCEPTABLE and a clear case of some kind of discrimination which certainly dampened our evening. This is a real shame as the music and drinks are great. As a venue, we also employ SIA security staff whose role is to provide safety for our visitors and guests, not to be rude and hostile towards them for no given reason.

I would recommend that Between the Bridges finds a different security company to use, rather than the Mickey Mouse one they currently employ who is losing their business money, it sounds like the tail is wagging the dog here!...

Didn’t have a great experience here at all. Me and my girlfriend went yesterday for day drinks. We arrived and they didn’t even know what table we had booked. When they found out we sat down. We were told to order using the QR code, when I scanned it the WiFi was extremely slow. The page was continuously loading with not much progress. I was getting very frustrated at the speed, it took almost 20 minutes to order our first drinks! I asked one of the bar staff if we could just order with him through him. He said he couldn’t I then asked what can we do then if we can’t get onto the app ? He replied ā€˜just keep trying’ and walked off. I find it bizarre to not want to serve paying customers in a circumstance out of our control. The app was slow and needs sorting out. My own data did not work either. Having finally got onto the app to order we decided to give it one more shot ordering 2 drinks each, which again did not even come to the table, it got delivered to a different one, we ordered halloumi fries to which we got a 4 in a bowl with some cucumber and salad.

I am probably being harsh to a newly opened venue that just wants to pick up some profit after the pandemic and our particular experience wasn’t great..if they sort the internet out I’m sure I wouldn’t be posting a review like this.

Give it a go if you are planning maybe they will have improved it in a few...

Yesterday we arrived around 5pm, we got a drink and waited around 30 mins for a table when some people were leaving early and they said we could sit there. We were having a good time and the drinks were flowing when a girl came over and said that’s my table. We were like no we have been here hours. She said no I work here and that’s my table. We said no reserved signs have been here the whole time. The security came over and said we needed to move. Again we questioned why as we have been here and no signs were there to say we needed to go. We felt like just because someone worked there had priority over a table! Then another girl came over who could have been a manger was very very rude and said we needed to leave as she put the sign out and again we repeated that there was no reserved time. She came quite aggressive and said the girls who has reserved this table works here and needs to the table. We had no choice but to leave. We then felt the girls who work there who felt very entitled kept on looking over at us and laughing for the rest of the evening. This was not good costumer service and was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism. I will not be recommending...

Really cool place next to the river. My partner and I used to go after work for drinks. It has different street food options; I tried all of them last year; my favourite was the cheese chip, but unfortunately, they don’t have it this year. We went yesterday, and we noticed that only one bar was open, and the queue was super long. However, they have a lot of staff to serve. That is the reason, I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Hopefully, they will open the outside bars soon. Yesterday, we tried hallomi fries (Conor’s with alioli), prawns (we love them), two slices of pepperoni pizza (wow, my favourite thing from here), and a fish burger. It’s super cool and has a big garden. If you want to enjoy the sun ā˜€ļø with a drink and maybe food, I highly suggest you come! Probably I’ll be here too.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Between the Bridges and was absolutely blown away by the experience! I tried the grilled beef arepas and chicken empanadas from the Street Latin Food stall, and both were nothing short of delicious. The arepas were perfectly grilled, with a tender and flavorful filling, while the empanadas had a crispy exterior and were packed with tasty, seasoned chicken. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the staff were incredibly kind and efficient, serving up the food quickly without sacrificing quality. The prices were very reasonable, making it not just a tasty meal but a great value as well. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Between the Bridges for an authentic and satisfying street food experience at the Street Latin Food!!

Between the Bridges: A Casual Southbank Haven Free entry is a major plus for Between the Bridges, making it a relaxed and accessible spot for a day out. A quick online check before heading over is advisable to see what's on, as the music and events can vary. The venue boasts a great selection of food and drink, catering to different tastes. Expect to pay around £11-15 for a meal and £7.20 for a beer. There's plenty of seating and toilets, ensuring comfort for all visitors. Located conveniently between Waterloo and Charing Cross stations, it's easy to reach. Overall, Between the Bridges is a fantastic spot to soak up the atmosphere on the Southbank.
