This is the one attraction that you just have to ride when you visit the city of London.
Firstly, If you have ever been to a fun fare well this is a bigger version of a Ferris wheel but it's family friendly because it travels around so slowly it's hard to notice it's moving. Also you walk into a large, mostly glass capsule which has a central large oval bench for passengers to sit in. Each capsule is fully enclosed so you cannot fall out or get wet (if it's raining).
Secondly, if you want to get an aerial perspective of the city of London, this is the best way to take pictures and to London from the air. You can see most of all of London's famous landmarks and the views are just breathtaking. Bring your camera and camcorders for views of London that you will never forget day or night.
Please remember this is a very popular attraction and the queues are very long so either arrive early or come very late to avoid the crowds. You can even book in advanced or online.
I give this a five out of five even if you don't ride it, it's still stunning...
Read moreDid the boat tour with City Tours and had a great time! Def recommend getting there a bit earlier so you can snag a good seat on the top deck (I think the right side of the boat is better than the left for majority of the ride). The weather was stunning (for London) the day I went, clear skies and sunshine. However it was still chilly on the water so don't forget to bundle up if you're doing the tour in the winter. Jordan was a great tour guide, there was so much to see on the tour but I felt like he did a nice job hitting all the important locations. His spiel was educational, light-hearted, and overall very enjoyable. Reserving a ticket online beforehand is a must as most of the departure times were sold out the day I went, I did it through Tripadvisor and it went through smoothly. In fact, I would definitely recommend the earliest tour (~10:45 AM) if possible because the area surrounding the London Eye was a lot less crowded compared to the afternoon and you can enjoy a nice walk along the river before...
Read moreWhere to start. We followed the direction stickers on the ground to get to box office but we were told by one man to walk around. So we did. He let us wait there looking at us. After minutes, others came in the same way as we wanted to and he didn't say anything to them. So I asked how come, he said nothing, not even a slight sign of willingness. We got tickets and moved onto the platform. A very unpleasant and uninterested female member of staff told us when the next boat is coming. Thank god there was a male member of staff who had nice customer service skills. Paying £30 for an adult and a child is little too much to get this attitude. There are many unemployed people now there who would do a lot better job than some individuals who we, customers,...
