I wanted to love it. We live in the neighbourhood and have walked past often. I thought the large terrace would be best place to take visiting family on a hot summer evening so I booked well in advance. When we arrived, all of the outdoor tables were taken and we were sat indoors, the only indoor table all night in the unbearably swealtering hot arch. I tried to ask if we could be seated outdoors if a table freed but was quite scornfully told it was not possible. It broke my heart looking outside at the buzzing atmosphere and the beautiful summer evening whilst I created permanent sweat stains on new dress in the bleak sad empty swealtering dining room. When the forecast is +30, you should show enough respect to those who have gone through the effort of booking to make sure an outdoor table is available instead of pawning off the unbearable indoor ones no walk ins would even dream of sitting in. I had popped by earlier to ensure they still did pizza as a few of the reviews made this ambiguous. The cheff ensured me that this was the case, however when we went to order the server explained that this was the case only on very rare quiet occasions. How can you operate a business like this? The food took an eternity to arrive, each dinerâs dish arriving individually as it was ready. The food was at best adequate and the portions miniscule. When we paid and we expressed our dissatisfaction at the food we were told the cheff was very new and as a lovely gesture were offered a limoncello and some desert but it was not enough to mend my broken heart and my sweat stained dress. The wine was lovely. There are so many lovely places in the area, we...
Read moreTurned up for a drink and pizza for a friend's 30th birthday. We booked ahead. Firstly, the waiter didn't seem to believe we had a booking, then pointed us to a table. We were then not served for 15 - 20 minutes. When I went inside and politely asked if there were menus we could look at, the same waiter said "No" with incredulity. He said he would come over to us. We waited another 10 minutes or so, whilst he cheerfully attended to other customers, including those that arrived after us. When he eventually came over he took our drinks order, with no explanation about food. We went inside to politely ask again about how we can order pizza. We were given a run down of flavours. No price was offered, so we had to ask - the pizzas start at £7 for a medium-sized slice. We paid up for the drinks and left. We were polite and well behaved and yet made to feel very unwelcome, and simply not good enough to be served. It was appalling, arrogant service. The entire experience was demeaning. The waiter who served us was around 5'6, with glasses and an Italian or French accent. Unless you're able to visit with some subtle indicator you're their 'kind' of customer, then I would advise...
Read moreTop price for mid/low tier experience unfortunately.
The food was ok but expensive for what it was, especially the salumi antipasto which was small.
Setting is really nice.
Worst element was the service, waitress had a really uninterested bad attitude.
Slow - waited for around 5 minutes to be seated despite a table being free. After seating another 10 mins before drinks and food order taken. Then told that waitresses had not rung through our order.
On phone - the ordering and payment went through the waitresses phone but I would suggest a restaurant app is only so interesting. Also donât think the restaurant app has a messaging function.
Condescending - waitress assumed the drinks order of a guest would be alcohol and preceded to scoff when a soft drink was requested and such requests were outlandish and laughable. Clearly thinks the establishment is the finest restaurant in London. Sorry to burst your bubble its far from that and I know its shocking but some people donât...
