The Barrel Project — Restaurant in London

Most unexpected night of my life... 2 hours before closing time, the bartenders told us that it was not worth being open till closure time for only our table (10 pax) and the other one. Being 10 of us celebrating a birthday, we've been ordering (good) beers and food at a constant pace, and we were on the verge to order at least 10 more when the ladies told us we were not worth staying open and continuing serving. It was the first time of our lives we ever heard such kind of excuse to close a bar earlier than the usual time. It was actually very offensive, despite our complaints. At least one thing is sure now: none of us will never ever come back to that bar. We felt so insulted not to be WORTH staying open till the official closing time. Not to mention that the beers are good but extremely overrated in...

Had been sitting at a table outside for like an hour and a half trying the admittedly great selection of both IPAs and sour beer when suddenly approached by one of the outside guards who very rudely told us we need to leave the table because he had "forgot to put up a reserved sign". No excuse or anything. Guests around and even someone from the party having our table were amazed by the rudeness of the guard. Families, dont bother with this place, we suspect we as a family of two adults and two kids were thrown out in favour of a clientel more likely to attract more guests into the venue. Poor on you Barrel Project to have such staff to let down the place when the selection of beer is...

It was fine. The atmosphere was let down because the owner was a killjoy. We had the tiniest bottle of disaronno, which was a jokey gift for a friend leaving London, confiscated. He had given a warning just before but it was passed to a friend to put away who didn't know and took a drink, and he was a bit rude about it. We asked at the bar and he said it was "disrespectful" and had thrown it away, but seriously, we had all had a lot of drinks and food at his pub by this point and we just wanted to have a good time. It felt disproportionate and sadly we will think twice before coming here again.
