I bought what was marketed as a “rootless plant,” thinking it was a permanent, sustainable arrangement. It turned out to be an Echeveria lilacina (Ghost Echeveria) — a succulent that, like all living plants, needs roots to survive.
The plant was simply glued to a tray with no way to absorb water or nutrients. This isn’t innovation — it’s a slow-decaying plant presented as a design feature. It’s the botanical equivalent of gluing a rosebud to a saucer and calling it a “rootless rose.” The only difference is it dies in two months instead of two days.
I’m now trying to propagate roots and save the plant — something that should never be necessary if it had been sold responsibly.
Unfortunately, the in-store experience was just as disappointing. The first assistant barely looked up, and while the second tried to help, they weren’t informed and suggested I “ChatGPT it.”
It’s a beautiful shop, but this experience left me frustrated. A plant shop should offer honest guidance and basic knowledge — especially when selling...
Read moreIf you’re looking for flowers in London GO HERE. Seriously shining review. Was running around London for a place that sells decent flowers and couldn’t find anything close to anything like this place and I’m a frequent flower purchaser. Run by an amazing guy (can’t remember his name sorry) but very cool zen vibe from him and the place and the flowers are actually very reasonably priced all things considered. I will be back again and have already recommended this place to many people. We connected because he’s the florist for my CEO. And I owe him this review (incase you’re reading this I was the young guy with the Afro.) but I can’t say enough about this place. On top of that it is connected/ a share space with a cafe/ bar that is open from 5pm which is a direct extension of the amazing vibe just with drinks. If you have time, just go an...
Read moreIn the past, the staff at the Druid St branch have been really rude and dismissive. But I have put it down to them being busy. But I had to write a review this time. My husband reserved a bouquet of red roses for Valentines Day and picked them up on the morning of the 14th after pre-ordering them. They are already dead and it’s only Tuesday. When we undone them to put in a vase, the water in the cellophane that they came in was rotten and dark coloured. These were certainly not freshly made for an order! I bought some roses from ASDA on Old Kent Road the day before for £5. Those are still going strong! This florist overcharge for duff flowers and have rubbish attitudes to boot. Horrible experiences on the whole so will never...
