our booking was at 6:30 but we were made to wait 15 minutes before we were seated. then, it was another 30 minutes before any food was served to us.

the first thing that came was chorizo. the problem is, we didn’t order chorizo so that was quickly taken away.

the actual first thing that came was the tomato bread which was crispy and lovely, but needed some salt which was not provided (we had to steal if from another table once it was vacated).

then another 20 minutes passed before we were served our main: the chimichurri sauce steak. one side of it was salted and the other side was sauced which made one side of my mouth salty and the other side saucy.

now, you might be wondering, you didn’t order tapas at a spanish restaurant?? but we did. it just hadn’t arrived yet. yes, the mains arrived before the tapas. which isn’t that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but surely no good spanish restaurant would bring out the mains before the tapas.

at this point, we had been in the restaurant for 1 hour and 15 minutes and less than half of our order had arrived. so, we asked the waiter where our food was. magically, almost immediately after asking, one of three of the tapas we ordered arrived.

this was the crispy chicken, which can be considered really yummy if i had not been waiting for so long already. the second to come was the pig tacos for which i share the same sentiment with the crispy chicken.

the tuna tartare took another reminder to the waiter to come. what js baffling to me is how a raw dish was the last to arrive.

needless to say, i am immensely dissatisfied and disappointed with my visit, especially since half the section i was seated in was empty when i was there despite claims of the kitchen being “super busy.” the tables that were filled also got their food at a far more reasonable speed than us.

this review would’ve been glowing if the service was reasonable because the food was genuinely good.

at least they had the decency to not charge us the 12.5%...

The most appalling and insulting service I have ever recieved. Over an hour after ordering we had still not recieved all of our dishes. Twice we received dishes that we didn't order, with no sign of the dishes we did. With one dish we received, we were told it was meat free, only to receive that 'same' meat free dish 15mins later. So what was the first dish they served that was supposed to be meat free? It was chicken. My vegetarian (has been for 30 years) friend ate it not knowing. When we complained, the waitress played down the issue and didnt seem to care. She was incredibly disrespectful and didnt think the complaint was serious. She was so openly rude to us, on what was supposed to be a special evening. We walked out and as we were leaving the waitress swore at my friend. I have worked in the industry and have honestly never seen anything like it. Not only was this waitress forgetting drink orders, obviously doing a terrible job, but to then belittle us and swear at us as we left. Her manager was there, so the only blessing that could come from our ruined night is that she will be fired. Avoid, this...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Boqueria, a Spanish restaurant that exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for a remarkable dining experience. The food at Boqueria is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is a masterpiece that pays homage to the rich and vibrant flavors of Spain. The menu is a delightful journey through Spanish cuisine, and I couldn't get enough of it. The service at Boqueria is top-notch. The staff is not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about the food they serve. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their recommendations were spot on. Our glasses were never empty, and they made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our meal. If you're a fan of Spanish cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend Boqueria. It's a culinary gem that deserves all the praise it receives. In summary, Boqueria is a true standout in the world of Spanish dining, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal....

Craving tapas after a recent trip to Spain, we got our fix at Boqueria. We started of with the obligatory grilled padrons, which passed the moorish taste check. Next the old favourite of prawns in chilli oil and garlic were deliciously packed with rich garlic which was begging to be soaked up in crispy bread. The avocado and tuna ceviche was a nice fresh and zingy contrast to the oily prawns so it was a nice balance. The only downside was the crispy pork belly which was flavourful but super dry and chewy. But we did let the kitchen know and they acknowledged our response accordingly. The wine selection is also vast and localised to different regions offering a great variety. Will definitely be back when we need our next Iberian fix.

Quite accurate Spanish restaurant! Went with another 2 Spaniards and we enjoyed the food as if we were in our home towns. A little expensive for the sizes, but hey this is normal for Spanish restaurants in London for some reason! We ordered: pan con tomate, croquetas de trufa, chipirones, selección de ibéricos, alcachofa, carrillera, tartar de atún, oxtail risotto and torrija. And we really liked everything!! I specially recommend the truffle croquetas, the tuna tartar and pan con tomate! Would not order again the selección de ibericos though! Staff was really friendly (all Spanish speakers, which also gives authenticity to the place!). Shout out to the waiter Kevin!! Made our lunch so much better
