I absolutely adore this place, everything they make, and the wonderful people that make it happen each and every day ♥️
Food & Drink: • Literally every single item on the menu and in the pastry case is SUPERB. I haven’t tried a single thing that wasn’t to die for. • I was told the menu changes each month so I won’t write my specific favorites (and it’s a long list), BUT WOW the Nduja bun… the toastie… THE GRANOLA. It’s all so good 😭 • I am so happy they serve filter coffee and it’s good every time 💧☕️♥️ • Espresso options are excellent too, and I also love their other drink options like the Steep Co ginger beer & Cola! Even the red & white stripey straws they use are lovely.
The Space • The space is gorgeous, spacious, and quiet. • The music selection and volume are perfect. • It stays lovely and cool in the summer. • WiFi is great ✅ and they have power outlets 🔌⚡️ • The layout is very pleasant and there are plenty of seats and beautiful big tables. • Bathroom is nice and clean.
The People • Every single staff member I’ve encountered has been lovely. I genuinely look forward to seeing them and it’s one of the reasons I keep going back again and again. I try not to talk their ears off because I know they have a job to do and I don’t want to assume they enjoy talking to me as well 🤣 but I really do enjoy the interactions I have with them, it’s nice to feel like they’re happy to see me and also happy to help me decide what to order when I decide to finally stop ordering the lemon drizzle cake from time to time. • As someone who’s worked in many cafes, managed one, and just a massive enthusiast of coffee shops as human spaces that are the lifeblood of communities and fostering love and interaction within them - it’s not a coincidence that at some places, most staff are a bit rude or lethargic, etc. while at some special places, literally everyone is wonderful, passionate, caring, helpful, and a joy to be served by. Bread By Bike should really get credit for fostering this culture in their cafe ♥️
The Price • I would say everything feels very fairly priced for London. • There is a service charge built-in when you eat in, but it’s reasonable. I’ve seen some London cafes recently who literally mark up the price of all food items by 20% if you sit in PLUS a hefty service charge, which sometimes feels like being robbed 🥺 It’s really hard for me as a creative who’s barely scraping by on savings, but Bread By Bike is a place where everything feels fair, that brings me so much joy and genuinely improves my day, my productivity, and adds texture to my life here in London, and so it’s places like this that really feel worth paying for.
Thanks to the owners for creating this incredible place and to the entire staff who keep it running day in, day out ☀️🌻 You are all wonderful and I will do everything I can do find ways to spread the love and appreciation for London’s finest...

Its a bakery with 2 very long tables and a sidewall "bench-ette". SO..... you can buy and exit or sit and eat.
I cannot vouch that the bread was sired by a bicycle. But, the cakes and buns have been cooked with care and affection. All baked in store. I had the lemon & thyme cake(again) and a flat white coffee. Mmmmm. Wonderful sharp lemon zest, moist sponge. Thick crema on the coffee (IMHO the origin of the flavor)
Not so much importance is placed upon decor. But, you won't care once you taste.
Behind the counter they are busy baking. Big windows to watch the passers by whilst happily stuffing your face.
I noticed someone had a really tempting looking soup bowl filled to the brim with vegetables. Lunchtime specials with crunchy bread? Not sure.
They have some interesting breads. One (I am sure) is identical to Terry Pratchett's " battle bread". It's an almost spherical rye. The shape designed to assist the aerodynamics when launched. I had similar bread for breakfast in Lithuania. Tasty, strong, heavy - designed to go all the way down to your socks.
I've been here a few times - each table seats about 8 without jostling. Lunchtime (11:30-2) can get quite crowded. That's the problem with nice places (and cheerful staff) - they become popular.
Maybe there should be a roster? You aren't allowed to sit and eat at Stew by Panda more than 3 times a month. Other times you have to give other businesses a go?
Just a thought.
2 coffees (one with soya milk) and 1 slice of cake - some coins in change from £10. I think the cake was about £3.50. Not cheap but.......for the taste I am prepared to break my piggy bank. (Or - so as not to offend any religions - my...
Read moreI have seen lots of promotions of this place on Instagram so I thought I'd try it out myself and see what I think. I had visited a bakery near Holloway Road and got here around 12noon and was happy to see there were still plenty of pastries available.
I went with the spinach and feta parcel, miso caramel swirl and a cinnamon bun. They have two stores, one is a bakery to go and the other next to it let's you sit down for coffee and other food items they have on the menu.
I didn't have any on the spot as I knew the pastries would taste much better after being reheated in an air fryer. I got home and tried the spinach and feta parcel which was absolutely delightful - super flaky, the crust tasted almost like a savoury pie and the filling inside went so well with the pastry. I finished it in just a few minutes. I then also had the miso caramel swirl which was such a lovely combination of sweet-savoury for people who like it. There's miso caramel around every layer of the swirl and some crumbs on top which added a lovely texture. I had the cinnamon bun the next day on my way to work and even though it wasn't reheated it's still fluffy and not too sweet which is how I like my cinnamon bun. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and would definitely be coming back to try other things.
Price wise, it's not too bad - I paid £10 for all 3 pastries. Service was good, friendly staff and quick service, would be happy to sit down next time as the vibes seemed nice next door in...
